With the constant popularization and development of tennis in our country,the optional course of tennis has become the popular elective course set up in PE colleges and universities.However,how to improve the teaching methods and improve the teaching quality of the optional course of tennis has become one of the problems that need to be solved urgently in the research of tennis teaching in sports colleges and universities.Task-driven teaching method takes tasks as the main line,teachers as guidance and students as the main body.It guides students to complete learning tasks independently in teaching.In the process of completing tasks,it can effectively improve students’ learning interest,motivation and technical level and improve the quality of classroom teaching.Based on the summary of the application of task-driven teaching method in education and physical education majors,this study implanted task-driven teaching method into tennis elective courses in sports colleges.By means of literature,questionnaire,teaching experiment and other methods,task-driven teaching method and traditional teaching method were respectively adopted to carry out teaching for the two groups of students.After the experiment,three aspects of physical quality,learning interest and motivation,and special skill level of the two groups of students were compared,and the following conclusions were drawn:(1)The experimental results show that there is no significant difference between the experimental class and the control class in physical fitness test.It shows that task-driven teaching method has no significant advantage in improving students’ physical quality.(2)The experimental results show that the learning interest and motivation of the experimental class is much higher than that of the control class,and the results of the two classes are significantly different.It shows that applying task-driven teaching method to tennis lessons can effectively improve students’ interest and motivation in tennis.(3)The experimental results show that the performance of the experimental class is significantly higher than that of the control class,and the results of the two classes are significantly different after the experiment.It shows that applying task-driven teaching method to tennis lessons can effectively improve students’ tennis skills.(4)The experimental results show that most students are satisfied with the teaching effect of task-driven teaching method.It shows that the application of task-driven teaching method in tennis class has been recognized by students.The implementation of task-driven teaching method increases the communication between students and teachers,enhances the sense of participation of students,promotes the cooperation between students,improves the solidarity and cooperation ability of students,gives students more space to exert themselves in class,develops their comprehensive ability,and helps students establish the education concept of lifelong physical education.
