The era of knowledge economy has put forward new requirements for the cultivation of talents,and how to cultivate deep learners to adapt to the development of the times has become a problem worthy of in-depth study.In physics experiment teaching,compared with lecture teaching,inquiry teaching can give full play to students’ initiative in learning,make students participate in the process of knowledge generation and arouse students’ deep thinking.However,in the practical teaching of physical optics module in junior high school,many experimental phenomena are difficult to observe clearly in reality,or there is a lack of functional experimental models to support students’ in-depth exploration.The lack of experimental models to support students’ in-depth exploration can be solved by introducing new technologies.Virtual reality technology can provide a strong interactive,imaginative and immersive learning environment for teaching,and can provide a relatively perfect teaching experimental model to support students to carry out inquiry experiments efficiently,to support students to discover and summarize laws,and finally to support students to realize deep learning of physical concepts.In order to enrich the related theoretical and practical research of deep learning,solve the difficult problems in physical practice teaching and promote students to learn physical concepts in depth,this study attempts to integrate virtual reality technology into physical inquiry teaching,build a deep learning-oriented VR inquiry teaching model and conduct practical research.First of all,on the basis of combing the related research on the concept definition,teaching mode and teaching evaluation of deep learning at home and abroad,and the related research on the concept characteristics,teaching mode and teaching evaluation of virtual reality technology,this study carries out the related concept definition and theoretical basis analysis,and determines to define and evaluate deep learning from two aspects of learning methods and learning results.The students’ learning methods were measured by the two-factor learning process questionnaire revised by Biggs.From the perspective of evaluation of learning results,the study mainly uses test questions designed based on SOLO classification theory to measure students’ understanding level of physical concepts.Secondly,under the guidance of relevant theories,this study combs the classic deep learning model of physics,and on the basis of analyzing the results of existing teaching experiments,it is concluded that 5E inquiry teaching model can support students’ deep learning.Based on the five links of 5E inquiry teaching model,this paper tries to construct a VR inquiry teaching model to promote junior high school students’ deep learning of physics concepts,in which the teaching model consists of introduction,inquiry,explanation,transfer and evaluation.Finally,combined with the designed teaching mode,the teaching activities are designed according to the specific content of junior high school physical optics module,and quasi-experimental research is carried out to test whether the designed teaching mode is effective for junior high school students’ deep learning of physical concepts.The results of this study can be summarized as follows.First of all,this study constructs a VR inquiry teaching mode to promote the deep learning of junior high school students’ physical concepts,which provides a new idea for inquiry teaching under the guidance of deep learning;Secondly,based on the designed teaching mode,this paper takes the eighth grade students of a junior high school in Dezhou City,Shandong Province as the teaching object to carry out practical research.Two parallel classes are selected as the control class and the experimental class respectively.The control class adopts the traditional inquiry teaching mode,and the experimental class adopts the VR inquiry teaching mode to promote the deep learning of junior middle school students’ physical concepts.Through the comparative analysis of the pre-test and post-test questionnaire data of two classes of students,it is concluded that VR inquiry teaching under the guidance of deep learning can stimulate students’ deep learning motivation,promote students to use deep strategy to analyze and solve problems,weaken students’ shallow learning motivation and reduce the application of shallow learning methods.Through the comparative analysis of the scores of the test questions in the pre-test and post-test,it is concluded that the VR inquiry teaching mode to promote the deep learning of junior middle school students’ physical concepts can significantly improve the students’ learning level of physical concepts,mainly in the experimental class.From this,it can be concluded that VR inquiry teaching mode can significantly promote the development of students’ deep learning at the level of related structure,a physical concept.Through sampling interviews with students in the experimental class,it is concluded that students have a positive attitude towards inquiry teaching supported by virtual reality platform as a whole.This research enriches the relevant theoretical and practical research results of virtual reality technology teaching application,and can provide reference for further enriching the theoretical and practical research of junior high school physics experiment teaching.
