Chinese characters are an important vehicle for passing on and promoting Chinese traditional culture,and writing Chinese characters is a basic quality that every Chinese person should possess.With the development of the Internet era,the problem of Chinese character writing among primary and secondary school students has become increasingly prominent,and this problem is more evident among rural primary and secondary school students.Students are supposed to meet the basic requirements for Chinese character writing in the compulsory education curriculum at primary school level,but in some rural areas,the Chinese character writing level of junior high school students is still generally low.Through the survey,the author found that students were not sufficiently aware of the problems with their own writing and seriously underestimated the negative impact of electronic device input on the improvement of their Chinese writing skills.In order to gain a more comprehensive understanding of rural junior high school students’ Chinese character writing,the author conducted a Chinese character writing test and analysed the paper writing of students’ language answer cards.Through the statistical data and analysis of the papers,I found that the problems of writing Chinese characters among rural junior high school students were mainly in the areas of writing wrong characters,forgetting characters and writing on the paper.To address these problems,the author proposes strategies to improve Chinese writing from the perspective of students,teachers,families and society.For students,they should change their understanding and take the initiative to pay attention to writing Chinese characters;they should practise diligently and master the Chinese character writing norms.As for teachers,they should implement the curriculum and recognise the importance of writing Chinese characters;consolidate the foundation and lead students to experience the culture of Chinese characters;enrich activities to stimulate students’ interest in writing Chinese characters;deepen the methods and should provide reasonable guidance and evaluation;and improve their own writing skills.The family,school and society should work together to build a good environment for writing Chinese characters in order to improve the Chinese character writing of rural junior high school students.The effectiveness of the strategies is tested by conducting a writing test and a satisfaction survey on the implementation of writing improvement strategies.
