| In 2017,the new version of high school geography curriculum standards was promulgated,and it was proposed that geography teachers should pay attention to cultivating students’ core literacy in geography.Geographical comprehensive thinking is the most important geographical thinking ability,and teachers should implement the cultivation of students’ comprehensive thinking in teaching.Geography textbooks are an important tool for cultivating students’ comprehensive thinking.In geography teaching,geography teachers adopt appropriate strategies for using geography textbooks,which is conducive to cultivating students’ comprehensive thinking.Therefore,this study attempts to carry out practical research on the use of geography textbooks to cultivate students’ comprehensive thinking,which has certain practical significance for cultivating students’ comprehensive thinking and improving the quality of geography teaching.This paper first uses the literature research method to clarify the current research status and deficiencies in the cultivation of comprehensive thinking in geography,the analysis and evaluation of geography textbooks,and the application strategies of geography textbooks.The comprehensive thinking analysis of the textbook "Selective Compulsory Compulsory 1" of the People’s Education Edition senior high school geography is carried out with the questionnaire survey method.awareness of relationship.Then,use the interview method to interview the first-line high school geography teachers,and analyze the current situation and existing problems of the front-line high school geography teachers using textbooks to cultivate students’ comprehensive thinking.Then,combined with the results of comprehensive thinking analysis on geography textbooks and the conclusions of teacher interviews,a strategy for using textbooks based on the cultivation of comprehensive thinking is proposed.Finally,the two sections of the "Selective Compulsory 1" textbook are selected as cases for teaching design and practice.Through the instructional design under the guidance of the teaching material application strategy based on the cultivation of comprehensive thinking,the practicality of the teaching material application strategy is demonstrated,and it reflects that the teaching material application strategy based on the training of comprehensive thinking is conducive to the cultivation of students’ comprehensive thinking.It provides reference and reference for cultivating students’ comprehensive thinking.After research,the following conclusions were obtained:(1)Geography textbooks are an important tool for cultivating students’ comprehensive thinkingTextbooks are important teaching and learning reference books for teachers and students.Geography textbooks are compiled according to high school geography curriculum standards.Comprehensive thinking is one of the core competencies of geography.Therefore,the textbook content will contain many materials that can be used to cultivate students’ comprehensive thinking.(2)Analyzing the comprehensive thinking of teaching materials is the basis of using teaching materials to cultivate students’ comprehensive thinkingThe use of teaching materials to cultivate students’ comprehensive thinking must be based on the comprehensive thinking analysis of teaching materials.Through the comprehensive thinking analysis of the textbooks,we can clarify which specific content in the textbooks can cultivate comprehensive thinking and which aspects,and clarify how high school geography textbooks reflect comprehensive thinking,thus deepening our understanding of the relationship between textbooks and comprehensive thinking,so that we can use them better Teaching materials to cultivate students’ comprehensive thinking.(3)The implementation of teaching materials application strategies based on the cultivation of comprehensive thinking is conducive to improving teachers’ abilityThrough the interviews with teachers,we understand the current situation and existing problems of high school geography teachers using textbooks to cultivate students’ comprehensive thinking.For example,geography teachers generally believe that geography textbooks are an important carrier for cultivating students’ comprehensive thinking,but many teachers do not have a deep understanding of comprehensive thinking,and have not established a comprehensive thinking analysis framework for geography textbooks,nor have they proposed methods for comprehensive thinking analysis of textbooks.Although many geography teachers have mastered some teaching methods that can be used to cultivate students’ comprehensive thinking,they have not put forward strategies for cultivating students’ comprehensive thinking from the perspective of using geography textbooks.The implementation of teaching material application strategies based on the cultivation of comprehensive thinking requires teachers to conduct comprehensive thinking analysis on the content of geography textbooks,and to design teaching materials that can be used to cultivate students’ comprehensive thinking.This process will help teachers improve their understanding of teaching materials.Mastery and the ability of the teacher to teach.(4)The implementation of teaching material utilization strategies based on
