The Presentation And Practice Of Core Literacy In The New Biology Textbook Of Senior High School

Abstract/Summary:
In order to meet the requirements of the development of the new era,the Ministry of Education promulgated the Biology Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools(2017edition),pointing out that the biology curriculum was aimed at developing students’ core literacy in biology.In accordance with the new curriculum standards,the 2019 edition of ordinary high school biology textbook(hereinafter referred to as the "new textbook")had been published.Compared with the ordinary high school curriculum standard experimental textbook Biology(2007 edition)(hereinafter referred to as the "old textbook"),how is the core literacy presented in the new high school biology textbook? How to make good use of new teaching materials to develop students’ core literacy in teaching practice? Based on this,this study carried out research on new textbook based on core literacy in combination with "molecule and cell",a textbook published by People’s Education Press.First of all,this study sorted out the concepts,theories and research status related to core literacy and new textbook by literature research method,clarified the connotation of core literacy,and proposed the research theme of "How to make good use of new textbook to develop students’ core literacy".Secondly,it analyzed the core literacy in the new textbook.The new textbook was revised on the basis of the old one,and the changes were aimed at cultivating students’ core literacy.Therefore,based on the characteristics of the four dimensions of core literacy,this study made a comparative analysis of core literacy in the old and new textbooks of "molecule and cell" to grasp the changes in its meaning and deepen educators’ understanding of the changes in the new textbook.Then,it made a detailed analysis of the presentation of core literacy in the first page of the new textbook chapter,question discussion,knowledge content,exercises,summary of this chapter and illustrations,and explored the anchor point of core literacy in high school biology textbook.Then,it put forward the theory of "molecule and cell" module teaching based on the core literacy.Thirdly,the teaching practice of "molecule and cell" module based on core literacy was carried out through action research method.Before practice,questionnaire survey and interview were used to investigate and interview students and teachers.Based on the analysis of core literacy in the early new textbook,combined with the questionnaire survey and interview,four sets of teaching cases were designed to promote the cultivation of core literacy by question inquiry,model construction,inquiry experiment and nutrition and health education.In addition,I conducted core literacy teaching practice in a middle school in Zhaoqing,Guangdong for one semester.After practice,questionnaire survey,teacher interview and student achievement analysis were adopted,and it was concluded that students can use concepts and rules to promote the formation of life concept;Strengthen the quality of thinking and consolidate the development of scientific thinking;Master the process of inquiry and deepen the cultivation of scientific inquiry;Enhance the ability to assume responsibility,enhance the sense of social responsibility;The overall level of students’ core literacy had been significantly improved.The application of new textbook in biology classes in high school had a positive effect on the development of students’ core literacy.Finally,the author put forward some suggestions on the implementation of core literacy teaching: to study the new curriculum standards and understand the core literacy’ connotation;Familiar with the new textbook,improve their own quality;Core literacy teaching from the perspective of students.
