Curriculum reforms,the core of educational reforms,play a major role in education,and the breakthrough of its is the reformation of textbooks.This paper selects two textbooks of the high school biology,compulsory one,published by the People's Education Press and the Beijing Normal University Publishing Group as the research objects.After carefully studying of relevant documents from the Chinese national knowledge infrastructure,we have had a better understand for the background of biology textbooks' study,and we have analyzed the current situation,the purpose and the significance of the comparative study in biology textbooks at home and abroad.Based on comparative education theory,lifelong learning theory and the learning theory of constructivism and cognitivism,moreover according to curriculum standard,this paper uses documents analysis and content analysis method to analyze the content,the meaning and the value of "molecular and cell" module in senior high school biology textbooks.Then,this paper gives a comparison for the design of textbooks' structure,the items,the exercises,the illustrations and the experiment in the "Element and the cell" module of PEP and BNUP by using the documents research method,the comparative analysis method and the interview method.Through the comparative analysis for the textbooks,we got the following conclusions.(1)the general idea of the two versions of the textbook is similar,for example,the basic biological knowledge is both at the beginning of the two textbooks and arranged from the micro to macro,from the foundation to the complex ideas.But here are some differences in the content order.(2)For the column set,there is a great difference.The set in PEP is rich,which uses different colors,icons and boundaries in different items so as to separate from the text.Compared with PEP,this set in BNUPGis poor.(3)In terms of exercises,PEP has both chapter exercises and section exercises,and the type is more abundant.There is no chapter exercises in BNUPG,only a self-test after a lesson,and the type of exercises is simpler.(4)For the illustrations,although two versions of the textbooks have their own characteristics,the effect is at same.(5)The number of experiments between the two versions is of the same number.The highlight of the experiment in PEP is the model construction and extracurricular production,but for BNUPG the highlight is the simulation experiments,which have certain requirements for practical ability.Through comparative analysis,it is found that the contents in PEP textbook are not only novel,rigorous,but also focus on enhancing the basic knowledge and cultivating students' cooperation and research ability.For the content of BNUPG textbook,it is flexible and active,leaving the students a larger space to think.There are some suggestions for the editors,teachers and students.For the editor,it is recommended to enrich the types of experiments.teachers,the study for curriculum standards need to be further strengthened and the teaching design should be revised according to the actual situation of students;The proposal for students is to learn on the basis of understanding instead of rote learning.And in the learning process,more attention should be paid to life experience,so that some of the knowledge is no longer abstract,but true and specific.
