As the main force of education,the impression of young physical education teachers in students’minds will directly affect the quality of education and teaching.It is imperative to improve the Impression management of young physical education teachers in colleges and universities.However,after consulting the relevant literature,we found that the results of analyzing the Impression management of young PE teachers in colleges and universities were less,and the research on relevant measurement indicators was even less.Therefore,this thesis takes young physical education teachers in colleges and universities as the object of investigation,constructs their Impression management index system,and carries out actual measurement,aiming at improving the impression of young physical education teachers in colleges and universities in the field of teaching and education,and providing new ideas for follow-up research.Through consulting relevant literature on Impression management,through expert interviews and analytic hierarchy process,the thesis constructs Impression management indicators for young PE teachers in colleges and universities,forms questionnaires,and distributes them to verify the feasibility of indicators,understand the current situation of Impression management for young PE teachers in colleges and universities,and propose improvement strategies.The final conclusions are as follows:1 The index system of Impression management for young physical education teachers in colleges and universities includes two first level indicators,namely,acquired Impression management and protective Impression management,seven second level indicators,namely,goodwill,appearance modification,self modeling,self improvement,non speech act,advance explanation,explanation and apology,and 35 third level indicators.2.According to the determined Impression management index system for young physical education teachers in colleges and universities,the index weight consultation questionnaire was issued to experts,and finally the index weight A=0.6022A1+0.3977A2,and the acquired Impression management A1=0.0648B1+0.1568B2+0.1610B3+0.1065B4+0.1132B5,protective Impression management A2=0.1468B6+0.2509B7。3.The comprehensive level of Impression management of young physical education teachers in colleges and universities is good,but the performance of acquired Impression management in the first level indicators is weaker than that of protective Impression management.Among them,showing kindness,setting an example,self-improvement,and non speech act are the weak points in acquired Impression management,and the explanation of apology in protective Impression management is weaker.There are significant differences between male teachers and female teachers in acquired Impression management;There are differences in the dimensions of acquired Impression management among teachers of different ages;There is no significant difference among teachers with different educational backgrounds;There are significant differences between teachers of different teaching ages in the two dimensions of acquired Impression management and protective Impression management.4.Propose promotion strategies for the Impression management of young PE teachers in colleges and universities:establish a correct education concept and actively show kindness;Improve one’s own teaching level and shape an example;Strengthen communication and learning to achieve self-improvement;Enhance nonverbal abilities and strengthen the combination of language use;Correct and humble attitude,establish a people-oriented education concept.
