The public opinion on "textbook illustration" has been fermented many times in 2022,which has put the once-weak textbook element of "textbook illustration" at the height of public concern,official attention,and research diversification,and there is an urgent need for an objective and fair evaluation index system to help textbook The same year coincided with the new compulsory education system.In the same year,the new standards for compulsory education were introduced,which set new requirements for human development.As an indispensable element in textbooks,illustrations are not only visual representations of textual explanations,but also have the educational value of nurturing subjects and culture because of their unique visual effects,thus influencing learners’ comprehensive literacy in a subtle way.Therefore,the evaluation of junior high school physics textbook illustrations is carried out in the context of the Compulsory Education Physics Curriculum Standards(2022 Edition),and a systematic evaluation index system is constructed in multiple dimensions,which helps to refine the study of illustrations,so as to deeply explore the evaluation perspective of textbook illustrations and promote the construction of textbook illustrations,selection and teaching.The main work is as follows:(1)Constructing an evaluation index system for textbook illustrations of junior high school physics under the new curriculumFirstly,the text analysis method was used to interpret the Compulsory Education Physics Curriculum Standards(2022 Edition)in depth and refine the main points of education,and then combined with the selection of textbook illustration evaluation perspectives,the two collaborated to select the index elements,through the selection of primary indicators,the formulation of secondary indicators,and the establishment of tertiary indicators to complete the initial construction of the index system.After that,the Delphi method was used to revise and improve the indexes,which finally formed the evaluation system of three primary indexes,nine secondary indexes and 21 tertiary indexes,namely,"subject interpretation","ideological inculcation" and "ability development".The evaluation system consists of three primary indicators,nine secondary indicators and 21 tertiary indicators.Under the first level indicator of "interpretation",the evaluation framework aims to evaluate the contribution of illustration in subject teaching by deepening the second level indicators of "knowledge representation" and "thinking training".--The framework is designed to evaluate the contribution of illustrations to the teaching and learning of physics by deepening the secondary indicators of "knowledge representation" and "training in thinking",which help students to understand and apply their knowledge of the subject and to develop their scientific thinking.Under the first level of "inculcation of thought",the four secondary indicators of "national identity","social responsibility","personal will" and "aesthetic orientation" are deepened to evaluate the role of illustrations in the nurturing of people at the ideological and moral level--The aim is to evaluate the role of illustrations in nurturing people at the ideological and moral level by cultivating students’ sense of national identity,social responsibility,personal values and aesthetic orientation so that they can contribute positively to society;under the first-level indicator of "ability development",through"scientific investigation Under the first level of "ability development",the three secondary indicators of "scientific inquiry","practical application" and "labor creation" aim to evaluate the effect of illustration on the development of students’ abilities-The aim is to evaluate the effectiveness of the illustrations in developing students’ abilities to conduct experimental investigations,solve practical problems,and create work in order to meet future challenges.In addition,two to four specific scoring criteria are included under each secondary indicator to refine the structure of the framework and make it more operable.After forming the evaluation index system through qualitative research,weights were assigned through hierarchical analysis,and the weights of each index were as follows: 0.633 for "subject interpretation",0.2605 for "inculcation of ideas",and 0.5 for "ability development" in the primary index.Among the nine secondary indicators,"knowledge representation" has the highest weight of 0.4750,"thinking training" is 0.1583,and "national identity" is 0.1583.0.1479 for "national identity",0.0675 for "social responsibility",0.0311 for "personal will",and 0.01 for "aesthetic 0.0139 for "aesthetic orientation",0.0688 for"scientific inquiry",0.0244 for "practical application",and 0.0130 for "labor creation".The above data reveal that experts agree that illustrations are crucial in helping students to form a cognitive foundation for the subject;at the same time,the influence of illustrations on the ideological level should not be underestimated.(2)Testing the reliability and validity of the constructed evaluation index systemThe data obtained from the survey results of the trial of the system showed that the evaluation index system of middle school physics textbook illustrations under the new standard performed well in terms of reliability and validity.The reliability of the system is further demonstrated by the fact that all the indicators showed high consistency through the Kronbach coefficient test,and the experts and teachers recognized the overall framework of the evaluation index system as well as the correlation and consistency among the indicators.In addition,the evaluation index system of middle school physics textbook illustrations under the new standard was also proved to have good validity after KMO and Bartlett’s spherical test.The evaluation index system covers all aspects of the national requirements for the nurturing of physics subjects,which helps to promote the quality assessment and monitoring of junior high school physics textbook illustrations,thus improving the quality of textbooks and enhancing students’ learning effectiveness in physics subjects;and motivates front-line teachers to better explore the value of textbook illustrations,adopt appropriate teaching strategies to bring out the nurturing effect of relevant contents,and build a good educational ecology in multiple aspects.
