Study On The Enhancement Of Smart Phone Usage Ability Among The Elderly In Growth Group Model

In daily life,people are increasingly inseparable from their smartphones.Using smartphones brings great conenience to our lives,but what we young people think is convenient is indeed difficult in the eyes of the older generation.During the epidemic,the elderly were unable to take the bus because the they could not use health codes,which caused widespread concern in the society.Based on this,Country also attaches great importance and has issued document to solve this problem.More manufacturers are making ageing-friendly improvements,and smart phone training courses are being offered all over the world to help the elderly integrate into the smart society.Therefore,social workers should play a professional role to help the elderly to play with smartphones.This paper is divided into five parts,the first part is the introduction,which mainly describes the background of the study,analyzes the research on the use of smartphones by the elderly from different perspectives at home and abroad,and gives an overview of related concepts and theories.The second part is an analysis of the current situation of smartphone use among the elderly in X community in Hubei province.Firstly,the social woeker interviewed the elderly and found that the following problems in the use of smartphones:they did not understand the meaning of smartphone symbols,they did not have the ability to operate common smartphone applications and they were afraid of being cheated by using smartphones.The third part is the group work practice.The preparatory stage was to recruit group members and assess their needs,and then the social workers and group members worked together to develop a group plan.A total of six group activities were conducted in the first,middle and second stages to enhance the smartphone use ability of the group members.The fourth part is the practical evalution.The social workers mainly evaluated the effectiveness of the group activities through outcome evaluation.Through the application of the growth group model and social learning theory,the social worker improved the ability of the elderly to use smartphones;expanded the circle of elderly friends and improved the social skills of the elderly;the elderly were able to recognize symbols,improved the awareness and ability of the elderly to prevent telecommunication fraud,prevented the elderly from forming Internet addiction,and improved the cognitive ability of the eldely in using smartphones.The fifth part is the conclusion and reflection.The social workers drew conclusions and reflected on the shortcomings according to the specific group activities.The conclusions are as follows:the growth group can provide a platform support to enhance smartphone use among the elderly,family members can teach them patiently,the community can raise the awareness of active services,and cell phone manufacturers and software developers can improve the model for the elderly.Reflections are as follows:follow-up visits were not possible due to the epidemic,the application of the growth group model was in sufficient,and social worker’practical skills were insufficient.In this paper,the socail worker aims to apply the growth group model and socail learning theory to improve the ability of the elderly to use smartphones in X community in Huibei Province,so that the elderly can have their daily needs,keep pace with the young people,integrate into the digital age,enjoy the digital dividends,and increase their own sense of happiness.At the same time,let the society join hands to work together for the elderly to play with smartphones.
