The Women’s Basketball World Cup is an international women’s basketball tournament organised by the International Basketball Federation(FIBA)and is the top-level FIBA women’s basketball tournament.Since 2018,the Women’s World Basketball Championship has been renamed the Women’s Basketball World Cup.This article uses the games played by the Chinese women’s basketball team and its opponents in the 2022 Women’s Basketball World Cup as the basis, with a total of eight games played by eight teams, including the Chinese women’s basketball team, the South Korean women’s basketball team, the Bosnia and Herzegovina women’s basketball team, the United States women’s basketball team, the Puerto Rican women’s basketball team, the Belgian women’s basketball team, the French women’s basketball team and the Australian women’s basketball team(two games were played against the United States women’s basketball team). The offensive tactics used in the games were observed, statistically as well as analysed, and the following conclusions were drawn:1、In the fast break tactics, the Chinese women’s basketball team’s fast break initiation method is mostly based on backcourt rebounding and stealing, the number of fast break initiation by throwing the ball into the boundary is less;the fast break promotion phase is more inclined to dribble and pass combination and individual breakthrough, individual breakthrough causes more turnovers, the initiation of long pass fast break is mostly by the centre player to the guard and then long pass, short pass fast break is rarely used;the ending phase is more based on layups, the average of 1.1 turnovers in the game 1.1 turnovers per game in the end phase. The opponent’s fast break phase is more often based on steals;the propulsion phase is also based on a combination of dribbling and passing and individual breakthroughs;the end phase is more often based on lay-ups.2、In the second, the Chinese women’s basketball team and its opponents were unable to maintain a high success rate in the attacking phase, which is the reason why the attacking phase was not commonly used in the game.In terms of the number of players and time involved, the Chinese women’s basketball team and its opponents mostly had 1-3 players involved in the bridging phase of the offense, with most of the players involved being outside players, and the offense time was mostly concentrated at the end of5-7 seconds;in the ending phase, the Chinese women’s basketball team had a failure rate of 51%,and the number of successful attempts was mostly layups, and its opponents used various methods in the bridging phase of the offense The Chinese women’s basketball team had a 51% failure rate in the end phase, with most of the successes being layups.3、Thirdly,in the position attack, the Chinese women’s basketball team and its opponents mostly cooperate with each other on a local basis by covering up;the end of the position attack is dominated by lay-ups,the proportion of three-point shots exceeds that of mid-range shots, and turnovers occupy a certain proportion in the position attack, ranking second;in the overall attack, the Chinese women’s basketball team mostly launches the attack in a 1-2-2formation.According to TOPSIS analysis, the 1-2-2 formation of the Chinese women’s basketball team refers to the highest, the 2-3 formation is the lowest value, and the 3-2 formation ranks second in value, but is used the least often. Its opponents tend to launch their attacks in 2-3 formations in the overall attack, with most teams launching their attacks from 45° positions on both sides, making it easier to create favourable attacking space.4、Fourth,in the general trend of the masculinisation of women’s basketball, women’s basketball is also tending to develop in the "small ball era".In the centre position, the US women’s basketball team has Stewart and Aja Wilson at the 4 and 5 positions with fast movement and accurate outside shooting, while the Chinese women’s basketball team has Han Xu and Li Yueru at the centre position, with Li Yueru tending to play more like a traditional centre. In the closing stages, the Chinese women’s basketball team mostly used layups and three-pointers,with less use of the mid-range;the US women’s basketball team was able to use the more manly stop-and-go mid-range jumper in the closing stages.
