“Understanding of Countries” is set as a staple teaching content in the junior geography curriculum,providing broad vision,space,knowledge and methods for cultivating students’ global perspective,building up correct world outlook,and developing their awareness and ability to explore the real world,and is an essential element in deepening the development of key competence of junior high school students in geography.However,in practical classroom instruction,how to select and organize the teaching content of “Understanding of Countries” has become an urgent problem to be solved due to the lack of profound thinking about its teaching connotation and ideas.Therefore,in this study,we have proposed corresponding thoughts and approaches from the perspective of fostering students’ global view of human-environment interaction through literature review.First,we sorted out current relevant research on “Understanding of Countries” in junior geography at home and abroad,and determined the research direction of global view of humanenvironment interaction as the main line of teaching and underlying theme.Second,based on the research paradigm of human-environment interaction proposed by Duan Yifu,combined with the research themes of regional geography teaching as well as the content requirements of “Understanding of Countries” in the 2022 edition of Geography Curriculum Standard,we designed a basic structure for the selection and organization of the course content of“Understanding of Countries” from the perspective of the global view of human-environment interaction,thus completing the theoretical construction of the paper.Then in accordance with this theoretical framework and integrated with the SOLO taxonomy theory,we developed in this study a classroom observation scale for “Understanding of Countries”along with a classification table for the overall evaluation level of global view of humanenvironment interaction.On the basis of this,we made observations and data on the selection and organization of the course content of “Understanding of Countries” in junior geography and as a result,we discovered its current situation and shortcomings through statistical analysis of the students’ performance level scores and the number of teaching content selection and organization.Finally,we put forward targeted strategies in view of the shortcomings in the selection and organization of teaching content of “Understanding of Countries” in junior geography,in hopes of providing appropriate reference to a number of front-line geography teachers. |
