| In recent years,parents of autistic children have gradually attracted the attention and care of society.As the recovery rate for autistic children is extremely low,parents of autistic children are under tremendous psychological and financial pressure,as well as facing family and social hardships,which can be a factor in their emotional well-being.It is imperative for families,especially parents of autistic children,to be caring and loving.During her internship,the author met the caseworker,a rehabilitation teacher at the institution and a parent of an autistic child,who had problems with dysphoria due to chronic work stress and concerns about her son’s future.This paper first uses documentary research,interviews and questionnaires to study the causes of her emotional problems.After reaching a consensus with the client,nine sessions of rational emotion therapy were conducted to help the client alleviate her emotional problems,with talks as the main focus and activities as a supplement.After the interventions,the client was not only helped to eliminate her irrational beliefs,but also helped to find a suitable way to deal with her emotions to ensure that she could handle her emotions.Finally,the client was helped to learn how to use the REBT self-help form so that she could successfully help herself.Follow-up communication with the caseworker and her family revealed that the caseworker was having good emotional problems.This study found that rational emotion therapy is effective for parents of autistic children with emotional problems and that timely communication with the family and feedback on the client’s problems during the intervention are crucial. |
