With the official promulgation of the Language Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2022 Edition),language education has stepped into a new era of core literacy. It starts from the use of language,in which students’ minds grow and their literacy is enhanced, and the core literacy of language is centrally reflected. It can be seen that the core language literacy can be effectively implemented through the teaching of composition, but when we look at the current practice of composition teaching,we find that it is still difficult to translate the educational philosophy and national policy into the classroom teaching norm, and the teaching of composition is still in an inefficient state. At the same time,project-based learning,as a theoretical framework that pursues more integrated learning goals and a more engaged and participatory learning process for students, has received attention from researchers, educational administrators, and educational practitioners in recent years and is developing rapidly.Based on this, the author conducted a project-based learning practice in elementary school S in H city, trying to optimize the process and effect of teaching composition through project-based learning and thus promote the implementation of core language literacy.Project-based learning is a new inquiry-based learning mode that takes the subject concepts and principles required by the curriculum standards as the core, takes real-world driving problems as the entry point, investigates and conducts in-depth research with the help of various resources and channels, and aims to solve project-based learning problems, master knowledge, improve ability, and show the results of project-based learning to others.Assignment teaching mainly refers to the teaching activities in which teachers use suitable teaching resources, adopt appropriate teaching modes, and give students scientific teaching guidance within a specific teaching time in order to effectively train students to use their existing knowledge for assignments. This study is based on pragmatic learning theory, constructivist learning theory, and task-based composition teaching theory, which allow students to conduct in-depth and continuous composition practice activities with the help of various teaching resources and channels in a real problematic composition context, and ultimately to improve their composition skills. On the basis of defining the core concepts and explaining the research theories, this study theoretically constructs the practice of elementary language composition teaching based on project-based learning: it is believed that project-based learning fits the concept of elementary language composition, fits the psychology of elementary school students’ composition, fits the process of elementary language composition, and is feasible;the specific construct needs to be based on the language curriculum standards, the composition content of language textbooks, and the characteristics of elementary school students; The objectives of the specific constructs are to improve students’ composition skills, implement core language literacy, and promote students’ overall development;the design of the specific constructs should be designed in six aspects, including core knowledge, driving questions, cognitive strategies, learning practices, public results, and overall evaluation. After the theoretical construction of project-based learning practice in primary language composition teaching, two rounds of practice in composition teaching were conducted in this study. The first round of teaching practice was based on the content of Unit 5 of the first book of Grade 4,which lasted for two weeks, and the teaching process and learning process were analyzed, reflected on and revised through teacher-student interviews.Based on this, the second round of teaching practice was carried out, which focused on the content of Unit 7 of the first book of Grade 4,and the duration was still two weeks.Combining the results of the two rounds of teaching practice, the following teaching strategies were proposed for the project-based learning of elementary school language composition teaching practice:First,we should pay attention to reality when selecting the project theme, and explore the project theme from the community where students live, their own interests and social reality. The second is to find and refine the corresponding core knowledge of the assignment from the curriculum standards.Third, focus on concepts to form pre-defined and interesting assignment-driven questions.Fourth,to determine the main results of the assignment, the assignment results should be consistent with the core knowledge of the assignment, should strive to be close to realistic and authentic works, and the assignment team results should be presented together with individual results.Fifth,on the basis of interpreting exercise tasks, decomposing exercise tasks and then planning exercise teaching programs.Sixth,we plan and construct the assignment assessment system from the content of assignment assessment, the subject of assignment assessment, and the way of assignment assessment as a whole.
