Project-based learning is a student-centered teaching and learning method,emphasizing the autonomy of students’ learning,and focusing on the creation of situations and the integrity of the learning process.Because of its unique educational function,project-based learning has attracted the attention of many researchers and is one of the hotspots in current education reform research.In recent years,researches on project-based learning have gradually appeared in the field of high school physics teaching in my country.At present,the research focuses more on the educating effect of project-based learning,but there is a lack of empirical research to test this educating effect,and there is a lack of thinking about how project-based learning educates people.This study takes high school students with average learning ability and weak physical foundation as the research object,and carries out teaching experiments of project learning in physics classroom teaching,and explores the difference between project learning and conventional teaching on students’ autonomous learning ability and physical concepts.The article designs and implements four high school physics project study cases,namely "Describe your movement from the bedroom to the living room door","Explore the motion properties of the bouncing ball falling at rest","Make an inclinometer" and "Make a simple spring force measurement".The research results show that:(1)Project learning can also be carried out in ordinary high school physics teaching where students have average learning ability and weak physical foundation.In the case of fully understanding the learning situation,selecting the appropriate project theme,and carefully designing the project learning case,the project learning can play a positive teaching effect,that is,the project learning has a positive impact on the students’ autonomous learning ability,and is conducive to the students’ physical concepts.The level of physics is improved,and the physical concepts of students with different basic levels of physics can be better developed;(2)Combined with the existing research on project learning,autonomous learning ability may be a mediating variable affecting various dependent variables,that is,the impact of project learning on students’ physical concepts and problem-solving ability may be through autonomous learning ability.This conclusion needs to be verified by more empirical studies.
