As a treasure of Chinese culture,ancient poetry deserves to shine in the language classroom,and its essence should be rooted in the soul of every student and externalised in all aspects of daily life.This is the need to enhance the country’s soft power and is the demand of the times.At the same time,the author found through literature research,questionnaires and interviews that junior high school students are poor readers of ancient poetry and are accustomed to the ’duck-fill’ teaching method,lacking enthusiasm and initiative.It was also found that teachers’ methods of teaching ancient poetry in the classroom were solidified and more teaching methods were needed for selection;at the same time,due to the highly condensed and unfamiliar nature of ancient poetry,students did not attach enough importance to the language and the effectiveness of language teaching was not obvious,which to a large extent was directly reflected in the lack of interest and enthusiasm of many students in ancient poetry;in addition,under the policy of double reduction,junior secondary language teachers were not able to teach ancient poetry in the 23-26 lessons suggested by the teaching reference.lesson time,which teaching methods can efficiently implement the requirements of the Compulsory Education Language Curriculum Standards(2022 edition)on the study of ancient poetry by junior secondary school students.All these questions affect the effective implementation of ancient poetry in the middle school language classroom.Based on the above reality,this selection focuses on the integrated use of seven teaching methods through the co-ordination of lesson time and teaching content,aiming to enhance the efficiency of teaching ancient poetry in the middle school language classroom and improve the learning level of ancient poetry reading for compulsory education(middle school)students.I.Chanting the classical method,constructing the ancient poetry language systemThe beauty of ancient poetry is mainly reflected in its tone,rhythm,meter and melody,and the control of breath,larynx,resonance and mouth allows the chanting voice to have variations in height,speed,intonation and staccato,and in length.Students are guided to chant,mainly on the basis of a clear understanding of the emotional tone of each level,with the right words,the right rhythm,the right tone and the right rhythm,and with expression and movement.Ⅱ.The imaginative method of teaching,reproducing the temporal system of ancient poetryImagination is the process of processing and transforming the original memory in one’s mind to form a new image.It includes word-form imagination,to concretize the meaning of ancient poetry words;sentence imagination,to create the mood of ancient poetry;and spatio-temporal imagination,to reproduce the system of ancient poetry.The path of imagination teaching includes micro-lessons and flow charts.Ⅲ.Emotional experience method,building the spiritual world of ancient poetryEmotion is an important aspect of human psychological activity,"it is the experience of one’s attitude towards objective things,a reflection of whether one’s needs are satisfied or not".The principles of evoking students’ inner emotions are to keep the number of infection points small;to present facts in a concrete way;and to make use of the mentality of childcare,etc.The basic modus operandi includes using sound to enter the emotion,using pictures to enter the emotion,and using people to enter the emotion.Ⅳ.Writing and reading to savour the wordplay of ancient poetryIf students’ learning is only input but not output,their understanding of what they have learned will not be thorough enough.In ancient poetry classes,three major forms of writing can be used: tonal writing,optional writing and filling in,in order to fully perceive and deeply understand the phrasing of poetry.V.A joint disciplinary approach to compensate for the curvilinear white space in ancient poetryBy linking the form and content of ancient poetry with subjects such as geography,biology,music and art,we can achieve a deeper understanding and analysis of the content and emotions of ancient poetry,and achieve a higher level of aesthetic significance.VI.The personality development method,forming a unique expression of ancient poetryEach teacher has his or her own unique characteristics,such as thinking and talent;each student also has his or her own unique characteristics,such as hobbies and specialties.Language teachers can sort out the core points of ancient poetry to assist students in their individual interpretation and presentation.VII.Diversified and expanded methods to promote the integration of ancient poetry with the real worldThe study of ancient poetry is not just in the classroom.Spatially,it can also be on the wall,outside school,in the online world;temporally,it can be in the classroom,on weekends,during winter and summer holidays.The multiplicity of space and time openings is conducive to advancing the integration of ancient poetry with students’ real world.Finally,taking the teaching of ancient poetry in Grade 7 as an example,the author has chosen seven teaching methods for ancient poetry in the middle school language under the background of the "double reduction" policy,according to the requirements of the teaching reference,the standards and the unit description of the textbook,and practised the "one lesson,one gain" teaching concept."In this book,we have designed and put into practice five lesson plans for ancient poetry in Grade 7,in the hope that they will be of some reference significance to front-line teachers in their classroom teaching of ancient poetry.
