In 2014,the Ministry of Education issued the "Opinions on Comprehensively Deepening Curriculum Reform and Implementing the Fundamental Task of Cultivating Virtue and Cultivating Talents",marking the beginning of the new curriculum reform.With the official issuance of the "2017 edition of the Biology Curriculum Standards for Ordinary High Schools",a new round of curriculum reform is fully underway.The new curriculum reform concept proposes that the goal of high school biology curriculum is to develop students’ core literacy in the field of biology.The concept of life is based on the essence of biology and is the core direction of the biological knowledge system.The formation of the concept of life is the core goal of high school biology curriculum,and establishing the meaning connection between concepts is the key to the formation of the concept of life.As a knowledge representation tool,concept maps,due to their hierarchical structure and cross connected graphical features,can systematically and completely represent a certain knowledge system,making the presentation of conceptual relationships more logical and systematic,better integrating concepts,and promoting the formation of life concepts.This study aims to summarize and sort out the interpretation of life concepts and concept maps by experts and scholars,fully tap into the life concept materials in the "Molecules and Cells" module,and analyze the unique value of concept maps in the formation of life concepts;Construct the implementation process of a concept map strategy targeting the concept of life and explore its effectiveness through empirical research,enriching the theoretical and practical research of concept maps in the cultivation of life concepts;This study effectively improves teaching efficiency,enhances teachers’ teaching design abilities,and promotes students’ understanding,transfer,and application of knowledge.Firstly,the literature research method was used to review the research related to concept maps,concept map strategies,and life concepts.The concept connotation,research status,and other related content were summarized,and the relevant concepts were defined.The formation path of life concepts was clarified,and the role of concept maps in the formation of life concepts was analyzed,laying a theoretical foundation for this study.Based on relevant theoretical research,a concept map strategy targeting the concept of life was constructed,which includes three steps: sorting out the concept hierarchy,establishing concept goals,using concept maps to complete concept integration and concept externalization,using concept maps to evaluate life concepts,and elaborating on the specific implementation path of this strategy.On this basis,the practical research of this strategy was carried out using the "Molecule and Cell" module as an example.During the practice process,the concept hierarchy of the "Molecule and Cell" module was first sorted out through the study and analysis of the "General High School Biology Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition)" and textbook content,and the life concept reflected by important concepts was analyzed to determine the key carriers of the life concept;Then,a semester long teaching practice was conducted using one or two parallel classes in high school as the research object,with the use of concept mapping strategies targeting the concept of life as the independent variable,from two aspects: "establishment of important concepts" and "establishment of core concepts".After the semester ended,the achievement of the two classes’ structural and functional views,as well as material and energy views,was evaluated using a life concept questionnaire,The effectiveness of the concept map strategy targeting the concept of life has been demonstrated,providing teaching strategies and cases for frontline teachers to learn from in the cultivation of life concepts.Based on the background of the new curriculum reform,this research had enriched and expanded the relevant research on the role of concept map in the formation of life concept at the theoretical and practical levels.The main research conclusions were as follows: First,the establishment of life concept was an important way to deeply understand the essence of life and an important embodiment of the value of discipline education;Second,the establishment of the concept of life was a gradual process,relying on the gradual infiltration of concept teaching;Thirdly,concept map was a powerful tool to help realize the promotion from biological concept to life concept,and the concept map strategy pointing to life concept was feasible and effective;Fourth,the concept map strategy that pointed to the concept of life was conducive to improving the level of instructional design.
