| In the face of increasingly fierce international competition and the rapid evolution of scientific and technological revolution,innovation has become the first driving force for development.This highlights the university in the "Science and technology,talent,innovation",the intersection of the important role of the more prominent.From the "ivory tower" to entering the society and becoming the power station,accelerator and Axis Institution of social development,the functions of the university in the process of promoting social progress and national development are constantly enriched,its own shape is changing.In recent decades,there has been a worldwide phenomenon of creating new universities in line with national strategic development expectations.This is a new university from scratch,from planning ideas to practice are quite different from the traditional university,many ideas can not be landed in the traditional university has become a reality in these schools.In our country,there are also a small number of universities,such as Southern University of Science and Technology,Shanghaitech University,and so on.Today,they are called new research university.Perhaps there was no formal concept of a new type of research university when they were founded.As new research universities are incorporated into the National Development Plans and research universities are springing up,there is growing interest in them.The new research university still a newly proposed academic concept in our country,and the related theoretical research lags behind slightly.At the same time,although the development route of new research university in our country is "Practice first,theory later",the practical research on new research university is rare.Based on this,this paper follows the basic logic of "Why-what-how-how to do" and takes the new research university as the object of study,to further define the concept on the basis of existing academic studies,to analyse its logical basis and to draw a picture of what the new research university school-running model should look like,focusing on the new research university that have already been put into practice,we will use case studies to show the current situation of their practice and summarize their school-running characteristics,this paper discusses some problems and challenges in the process of its development,and puts forward some optimization suggestions.This study holds that new research university is the research university of a new school-running model,the research type is the classical background,and the new type is the characteristics of the times.It is influenced by many factors,such as the national mission call of innovation-driven development strategies,the actual demand of the shortage of top-notch innovative talents,the internal drive of the change of knowledge production mode and the trend of international higher education development of university differentiation.On the theoretical level,the new research university,as a new school-running model,should necessarily change in the core elements of the school-running model.Therefore,this paper gives a brief description of the necessary form of the new research university in terms of the core elements of the school-running model,namely,the school-running orientation,the school-running system,the discipline structure and the talent cultivation.At the practical level,new research university have entered the stage of school-running practice.In order to understand their practical appearance,this paper selects typical representatives of new research university in China,and builds on the should-have pattern described above,further analysis of the macro-layout elements of the case schools.Through the case analysis,this study found that they have made in the specific school-running practice not only with a "Research-type" classical background and a "New" era of the attempt and exploration.Of course,these explorations are not all about overturning the traditional university model,and not all of the so-called new research university have made big changes in the logic at the heart of running a school.Regardless of the effectiveness of the schools,at least there are schools exploring new paths,it is worth looking forward to.Based on the analysis of the current situation and interviews,this study found that the construction process of the new research university was not smooth and the school-running practice was not perfect.In the process of actual landing,the problems and challenges they face have both similarities and differences with traditional universities.The school-running history of the new research university is relatively short,the effectiveness of the school-running reform has not yet been fully demonstrated,and in a short period of time it will face the challenge of social identity.In addition,although both schools are new research universities,the actual problems encountered may vary from one school to another depending on the progress of school development and the school system.Some new research university may face significant challenges in sustaining sustainable school resources in the long run due to institutional differences.There are also schools with a relatively long history,but in the practice of education has shown a may be against the original intention of the trend of large-scale enrollment.The future will be better.This paper argues that the new research university itself is taking an "Alternative" path of development,which requires a firm self-determination while striving to stay on the same track and to be different,what’s more,it needs an external environmental guarantee that can support and contain its "Alternative" development,which needs the common understanding and support of all parties. |
