The physical health of young children in China is not optimistic, the imbalance of physical development, physical health decline year by year, physical misconduct and the phenomenon that this special group of young children are often neglected is common. The basic motor skills play a crucial role in the development of human motor skills. On the one hand,it reflects the learning and development of motor skills in the previous stage, and at the same time,it lays the foundation for the learning and development of motor skills in the next stage. Therefore, this study focuses on the development of basic motor skills for 3-4 year olds, based on the growth and developmental rules and characteristics of 3-4 year olds, and the important goals for motor development in the Guidelines for Children’s Learning and Development for3-6 year olds, with the theory of sensitive period of growth and development, the theory of sensitive period of motor development, and Piaget’s play theory as the theoretical guidance. The physical fitness program was developed as an intervention program to test its effect on the basic motor skills of 3-4 year olds and to promote the balanced development of basic motor skills. The research methods of literature, case study, experimental method and mathematical statistics were used. The findings of the study on the basic motor skills of 3-4 year olds using the physical fitness program as an intervention curriculum are as follows:(1)The 12-week "fitness program" had a positive effect on the basic motor skills of 3-4 year olds, and the "fitness program" had a positive effect on the basic motor skills of 3-4 year olds compared with the kindergarten "school-based physical education program".The "physical fitness program" had a more significant effect on the basic motor skills of 3-4 year olds than the kindergarten-based physical education program.(2)Through data analysis, children in the experimental class showed a significant improvement in stability motor skills, and the boys in the experimental class were better than the girls in walking the balance beam, and the girls were better than the boys in standing on one foot;children in the control class showed a slight improvement in stability motor skills, but there was no significant difference. This indicates that the 12-week "Fitness Program" intervention has a good effect on the stability motor skills of 3-4 year olds.(3)Through the data analysis, both the experimental class and the control class had some degree of improvement in the performance of mobility motor skills, and the experimental class had more significant improvement than the control class, and the male children in the experimental class had better improvement than the female children in the experimental class.(4)Through the analysis of the data, the performance of the experimental class improved significantly in the manipulative motor skills, and the experimental class improved more in kicking the ball over the obstacle than the female class, and the female class improved more in the one-handed coin stuffing than the male class;the control class improved in the manipulative motor skills, but there was no significant difference, indicating that the 12-week "fitness program" had a positive effect on the performance of the 3-4-year-old children. This indicates that the 12-week "physical fitness program" has a good effect on the manipulative motor skills of 3-4 year olds.Suggestions:(1)Pay attention to the balanced development of basic motor skills for 3-4 year olds, and use dominant motor skills to drive non-dominant motor skills, and strive to make children gain more comprehensive, rich and precise experiences in basic motor skills.(2)The "essence" of the physical fitness program should be in the children. For children aged 3-4 years old,the curriculum promotes the development of basic motor skills through different teaching equipment(such as Annex III)or different combinations of the same teaching equipment as far as possible.(3)Physical fitness courses should have an appropriate structural ratio. At this stage,it is not common to develop physical fitness courses among young children,so it is recommended that kindergartens include a suitable structural ratio of physical fitness courses in their school-based physical education curriculum.(4)More parents and teachers should understand and pay attention to the development of basic motor skills of 3-4 year old children,so that more children can participate in the "physical fitness program",which can effectively promote the development of basic motor skills and improve the overall health of children.
