The Chapter Initiation Lesson is the first lesson to clarify the meaning of the entire chapter,carrying the role of "macro guidance",and should become the foothold of the overall teaching of the unit and the entry point for effectively implementing the core literacy of the mathematics discipline.Guided by the new curriculum standards,teachers should have attached great importance to the teaching of chapter starting courses in practice,but the current teaching situation of chapter starting courses is not optimistic.Against the background of "the introduction of the new curriculum standard" and "the dilemma of the current teaching situation",it is urgent to carry out teaching research on chapter starting courses.By focusing on the starting course of junior high school mathematics chapters in the People’s Education Press,this study aims to investigate the current teaching situation of the starting course of junior high school mathematics chapters,explore the purpose,principles,and framework of teaching design,and provide case studies to further improve the teaching theoretical system of the starting course of junior high school mathematics chapters,and provide corresponding reference for the teaching practice of the starting course of junior high school mathematics chapters.Taking systems theory,advance organizer theory,structuralism theory,etc.as the research cornerstone,this paper uses the literature research method to summarize and analyze the role,teaching status,strategies,etc.of the beginning lesson of junior high school mathematics chapters;Secondly,taking a middle school in Nanchang City as an example,a questionnaire survey was conducted to understand the current understanding,attitude,and actual teaching situation of junior high school mathematics teachers towards the teaching of chapter start courses.The analysis found that most teachers at the cognitive level believe it is necessary to carry out teaching of chapter start courses and recognize the value of chapter start courses.However,at the practical level,the implementation of chapter initiation teaching is not optimistic,mainly manifested in the "five deficiencies",namely the utilization of chapter initiation content,the overall construction of chapter knowledge,the infiltration of mathematical thinking methods,the disclosure of general research routines,and the inadequate guidance of research value and methods.In response to the above issues,based on relevant educational theories,it is clarified that the teaching design of chapter initiation courses should be aimed at solving the problems of "what to learn,why to learn,and how to learn".Following the principles of integrity,structure,and relevance,a practical and operational teaching design framework for chapter initiation courses should be constructed,which includes three steps: "analysis and interpretation,design and development,evaluation and reflection".In order to demonstrate more intuitively and concretely how to apply the above theoretical methods to teaching practice,using middle school mathematics in the People’s Education Press as the material,two parts of "addition and subtraction of integers" and "Pythagorean theorem" were selected for the teaching design of the chapter beginning lesson,for reference and reference by teachers.Finally,implement one of the teaching cases and verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the research content through interviews with students.It is recommended that teachers pay attention to the beginning of each chapter and enhance their overall teaching awareness;Emphasize knowledge structure and build a complete knowledge system and cognitive framework;Emphasizing the essence of mathematics,infiltrating research routines,mathematical ideas and methods;Pay attention to the starting point of students’ cognition and use their original cognition as the teaching starting point.The research on the current situation and design of the teaching of junior high school mathematics chapter initiation courses is based on the whole,with both scientific and practical aspects.It is of great significance for effectively implementing the teaching of chapter initiation courses,highlighting the teaching value of chapter initiation courses,and developing students’ core literacy.
