| Adolescent depression has been a more serious social problem,and at the same time,it has been generally received widespread and high attention from scholars around the globe.In modern society depression has become the main cause of death in adolescents.The author of this article used a computer searched to investigate the impact of family and adolescent depression.The article concluded that genetics,basic family environment,stress events in life,parents’ education level,and parenting styles have all conducted in-depth research on the specific causes and interventions of depression.The family incivility in this study belongs to low intensity deviant behavior,which may be often overlooked in people’s daily lives due to its small deviation and wide range.However,the persistent injuries caused by such behavior should be be paid more attention.Existing research has shown that family incivility can even affect adult interpersonal relationships in the workplace.At present,in the existing research in China,few scholars have paid attention to the harm that the family incivility brings to adolescents.Coincidentally,the psychological development of adolescents during this stage is a rapidly developing turning point,which is a special period where external interference can be achieved through the influence of "important others" other than parents.This study explores the relationship between family incivility behavior and adolescent depression,as well as the mediating role of self-esteem and how peer relationships regulate it,based on interpersonal theory,generalized tension theory,susceptibility model for depression,and buffering model for self-esteem.In this study,the family incivility behavior scale,the center for flow control twenty item scale,the peer relationship scale,and the self-esteem scale were administered to 895 Chinese adolescents :(1)Gender factors differed significantly in self-esteem and peer relations.(2)A significant correlation was found between adolescent depression and family incivility,as well as self-esteem.(3)Self esteem play a significant mediating role in the relationship between family incivility and adolescent depression that has been proven.incivility and adolescent depression that has been proven.(4)Self esteem is significantly mediated by peer relationships,and the latter half mediates the effects of family incivility on depression.Based on the research results,propose educational strategies to reduce adolescent depression:(1)Help parents and students in a separate way to detect the occurrence of uncivilized behavior in the family.(2)And the long-term negative impact of uncivilized behavior in the family,advocating to actively reduce the frequency of uncivilized behavior in the family and achieve the goal of reducing harm.(3)By adding targeted group counseling psychological courses for teenagers,we aim to enhance their self-esteem.(4)Through group activities and courses on specific themes,we aim to enhance good interaction among peers,improve peer relationships,and enhance self-esteem through positive interactions among peers,achieving intervention in adolescent depression. |
