Family Upbringing,Self-esteem And Adolescent Study On The Relationship Between The Values Of Materialism

Materialism values a stresses in material as the center of gravity of personal values,the formation of the internal mechanism and external effects brought by the,received extensive attention of the psychologists,existing research shows that family upbringing and materialism,self-esteem and materialism,and there is a close relationship between family upbringing and self-esteem.This study by way of family nurture and pride,and materialism of literature reading and comb,chose the family upbringing scale,adolescent materialism values scale and self-esteem scale for measuring tool,for a certain three high school in hebei,henan,hubei,600 middle school students' way of family nurture and pride,and the present conditions of the materialism,and thorough discusses the family upbringing,self-esteem,and materialism,the relationship between the conclusions are as follows: 1.Middle school students of materialism,family upbringing and self-esteem(1)the materialism exist significant differences in gender,embodied in the boy on the successful dimension score is significantly higher than girls;Materialism on the family source is urban or rural,and whether there is no significant difference on the one-child;Materialism exist significant differences in grade.(2)the family upbringing exist significant differences in gender,embodied in the father's mother refused to deny,punish severely,the three dimensions,boys score is significantly higher than girls.(3)the only-child family upbringing on whether there are significant differences,embodied in the father's punishment and severe,father transition interference,father favored subjects,father mother refused to deny,transition interference and protection and mother preference dimensions in which the participants not only children score is significantly higher than only children.(4)the way his father on his father's education has significant difference,the manifestation father degree has significant differences on his father's punishing;Father degree on the father refused to deny there are significant differences;Father degree have significant differences on his father's transition to protect.(5)self-esteem are not significant difference in gender and students of the earth;But significant difference in grade.2.A family upbringing,self-esteem,and the relations between materialism(1)materialism total score and each dimension and father emotional warmth understanding,mother's emotional warmth was significantly negative correlation.(2)the central dimensions dimensions with parents upbringing(in addition to the mother's emotional warmth understand)was significantly correlated.(3)dimension and parents happy upbringing dimensions(in addition to the father,punishing mother's emotional warmth and understanding)was significantly correlated.(4)successful dimension excessive interference with his father and mother refused to protect and punish severely were significantly related.(5)self-esteem and father parenting excessive interference(in addition to the father and the father preferred subjects)and mother upbringing dimensions(in addition to the mother,punishing and preference subjects)were significantly related.(6)self-esteem and materialism and its total score center has significantly negative correlation between dimensions and successful dimension.(7)self-esteem was my father's emotional warmth understanding and materialism total score,in order to get wealth for the success of the successful dimensions and acquire wealth centered center dimension partial intermediary role.
