Research On The Dilemma Of Tutor’s Guidance For Master’s Degree Thesis Of Education In High-level Comprehensive University

Abstract/Summary:
As an important part of professional degree postgraduates,the training quality of master of education has been paid more and more attention.As an important index to measure the training quality of master of education,dissertation has become the focus of many scholars’ research.For postgraduate education,tutor guidance affects the quality of dissertations and is also an important factor affecting the quality of personnel training.Therefore,high-quality education master’s thesis tutor guidance is particularly important.With the development of policy and the promotion of practical needs,high-level comprehensive universities are playing a more and more important role in the cultivation of master of education.However,due to the influence of many factors,the tutors of master of education in high-level comprehensive universities may face more problems and fall into difficulties in the guidance of dissertations.From the perspective of students and tutors,this paper discusses the current situation and difficulties of tutor guidance in high-level comprehensive universities,and explores possible solutions based on this.On the basis of combing and drawing lessons from previous studies,this paper takes the 2021 Master of education graduates of four "double first-class" universities(Nine directions for Subject Teaching Majors: Chinese,Mathematics,English,Politics,History,Geography,Physics,Chemistry and Biology)and their school tutors as the survey objects,using the methods of literature research,questionnaire and interview,this paper explores the situation of tutor guidance in Master’s thesis of education in high-level comprehensive universities from the aspects of guidance content,guidance frequency,guidance mode and guidance effect.Through the analysis of 325 student questionnaires,116 internal tutor questionnaires,27 student interview materials and 27 teacher interview materials,it is concluded that the tutor work of Master’s degree thesis in high-level comprehensive university is not only worthy of affirmation,but also has room for further improvement.From the perspective of guidance content,both in school tutors and out of school tutors are more comprehensive in the guidance content involved;in terms of guidance frequency,most students’ actual guidance frequency can not reach the expected guidance frequency,and the guidance frequency of tutors inside and outside school needs to be improved;from the perspective of guidance methods,the main problems are that face-to-face guidance needs to be strengthened and double tutor guidance needs to be improved;from the perspective of guidance effect,it needs to be strengthened as a whole.Through in-depth interview and investigation,it is found that the tutors of Master of education in high-level comprehensive universities are faced with time dilemma,topic selection dilemma,dialogue dilemma and cooperation dilemma in the guidance of dissertations.The main reasons for these difficulties are: the unequal number of tutors and master of education,the restriction of academic research orientation of high-level comprehensive universities,the lack of "professional" instructors,the constraints of students’ foundation and attitude,and the lack of effective cooperation mechanism.In view of the practical dilemma of the tutor guidance of the master’s degree thesis of education in high-level comprehensive universities,this paper combines the "should be" theoretical requirements of the master’s degree thesis guidance with the "actual" status quo of high-level comprehensive universities,and looks for ways to solve the dilemma from four aspects,so as to solve the dilemma of the tutor guidance of the master’s degree thesis of education in high-level comprehensive universities.First,strengthen the concept identification,and clarify the attitude and concept in the requirements,form and work of the dissertation;second,improve relevant systems,such as adjusting the length of schooling,improving the tutor evaluation and employment system and establishing a double tutor cooperation mechanism;third,implement specific strategies from the aspects of guidance content and guidance effect;fourth,provide support conditions,such as creating a good environment,building a team of tutors,building a benign interaction in the training process and accelerating discipline construction.
