The purpose of the "double reduction" policy is to reduce students’ study pressure,improve their learning interests and comprehensive quality.Under the background of "double reduction",researching the design of primary school Chinese homework can help teachers improve their teaching level and reduce students’ study pressure.Domestic and foreign scholars have achieved certain research results in the field of homework design,but there are still shortcomings.Most researchers focus on the macro level of homework design,while the research on homework design for different subjects and age groups has been neglected.Therefore,this study focuses on the second stage of primary school,aiming to explore the problems existing in the design of primary school Chinese homework and the causes of these problems.Based on this,optimization suggestions for the design of Chinese homework in primary school are proposed according to the requirements of the "double reduction" policy.This study focused on the students and teachers in the second stage of primary school,and used various research methods such as literature research,questionnaire survey,teacher-student interviews,text analysis,and case analysis.The teacher questionnaire was designed from four dimensions: teacher’s homework concept,homework design ability,homework resource exchange,and homework design source.A total of 104 primary school Chinese teachers were surveyed.The student questionnaire was designed from five dimensions: student’s homework concept,homework design quality,Chinese learning interest,Chinese homework burden,and homework feedback.A total of 280 students in the second stage of primary school were surveyed.The teacher interview designed questions from three dimensions: policy awareness,actual situation of homework design,and evaluation feedback of homework design,and a total of 13 teachers were interviewed.The student interview designed questions from three dimensions:policy implementation,homework interest,and evaluation feedback of homework design,and a total of 12 students were interviewed.Ten Chinese homework design cases were analyzed,including layered homework design,flexible homework design,unit homework design,interdisciplinary homework design,intelligent homework design,and homework evaluation form design.Through the analysis of the survey data and interview materials,this study analyzed the current situation of Chinese homework design in the second stage of primary school from four aspects: the burden of current Chinese homework,the ability of teachers to design homework,the attention to students’ individual needs,and the construction of homework design resources.The study found that there are the following problems in the design of Chinese homework in this stage: the promotion of reducing homework is facing challenges,the ability of teachers to design homework needs to be improved,the attention to students’ individual needs is insufficient,and the integration of design resources is somewhat lagging.The reasons for these problems are that the efforts to reduce homework by teachers and students are insufficient,the awareness of homework design and professional training of teachers are lacking,the design orientation and goals of homework are not clear enough,and high-quality resources and technology have not been fully utilized.Through the analysis of homework design cases,suggestions for optimizing Chinese homework design are proposed,including focusing on the needs of teachers and students to reduce homework,strengthening homework design training,promoting individualized design concepts,and improving digital resource management.
