The Influence Of Father’s Marital Satisfaction On Social Adaptation Of 3-6 Years Old Children

Social adaptation is a process that an individual must go through to become socialized.A large number of studies have shown that the age of 3-6 is a critical period for the development of an individual’s social adaptation,which is closely related to his peer interaction,academic level,and problem behavior.As a supporter and guide of children’s growth,fathers can become role models in the process of participating in parenting,play a role of active guidance and emotional support,and influence children’s development in social cognition,interpersonal communication,cooperative communication,etc.Family is a micro system,couple relationship or marital quality can influence fathers’ attitudes and behaviors in parenting,and a happy and harmonious family atmosphere can also help children to obtain good social adaptation,reduce the occurrence of anger,anxiety and aggression problem behavior.Therefore,it is necessary to further explore the relationship between the three and test whether fathers’ involvement in parenting can play a mediating role in marital satisfaction and young children’s social adjustment.In this study,stratified sampling method was adopted,and 635 children aged 3-6 in 3 districts of H province were selected as the research objects.Through "Marriage Satisfaction Questionnaire","Father’s Involvement in Parenting Questionnaire" and "Children’s Social Ability and Behavior Assessment Questionnaire",this paper aims to investigate the father’s marital satisfaction,participation in parenting,and the social adaptation development of 3-6 year old children,further explore the correlation and mediating mechanism of the three,and draw the following conclusions:1.The father’s marital satisfaction is at an upper-middle level,and there are significant differences in urban and rural areas,monthly income,and educational levels;fathers’ participation in parenting is better,and there are significant differences in urban and rural areas;3-6-year-old children’s social adaptation is good,There are significant differences in the age of children,urban and rural areas,gender and father’s educational level.2.Father’s marital satisfaction,participation in parenting and children’s social adaptation and sensitive cooperation were significantly positively correlated,while marital satisfaction,father’s participation in parenting and children’s anxiety withdrawal and anger aggression were significantly negatively correlated.3.Father’s marital satisfaction can significantly and positively predict children’s father’s participation in parenting;both father’s marital satisfaction and participation in parenting can significantly positively predict children’s overall social adaptation and sensitive cooperation,and negatively predict children’s anxiety withdrawal and anger aggression.4.There are 4 partial mediating paths between father’s participation in parenting and marital satisfaction and children’s social adaptation.Based on the above research conclusions,the following recommendations are put forward in a targeted manner: 1.Optimize the relationship between husband and wife and improve the father’s participation in parenting;2.Rationally face marital dissatisfaction and avoid involvement in parenting and parenting;3.Provide support and encouragement to children to reduce anxiety and withdrawal problems;4.Guide children to resolve emotions and reduce anger and aggressive behavior;5.Improve children’s social cognition and cultivate cooperative ability.
