Abstract/Summary:
Depression is a common phenomenon in junior high school students,which seriously troubles their study and life and affects their physical and mental health development.Some students even harm themselves due to depression.This study included experiential avoidance and self-compassion in the influence path of affective neglect on depression,and investigated whether affective neglect had an impact on depression through experiential avoidance and self-compassion.Using the method of questionnaire survey,with the affective neglect scale,acceptance and action questionnaire,self-compassion scale,depression scale as tools,selected students in grade one and grade two and grade three as the research objects,a total of 1200 junior high school students were surveyed.In terms of data processing,descriptive statistical analysis,single sample T test,independent sample T test,correlation analysis,mediating effect test and moderating effect test were carried out on the recovered questionnaires through SPSS22.0 and Process plug-in.The research conclusions are as follows:(1)There are significant differences in gender of experiential avoidance,grade of emotional neglect and depression,and family location of self-compassion and depression in junior high school students.(2)There are significant correlations between affective neglect,empirical avoidance,self-compassion and depression in junior high school students.(3)Empirical avoidance plays a mediating role in the relationship between affective neglect and depression;(4)Self-compassion played a moderating role in the first half of the mediating pathway between affective neglect and depressionBased on the above research conclusions,the following educational implications are proposed:First,educators hold regular public lectures on emotional neglect for parents.Second,teachers and parents guide students to reduce experiential avoidance by confronting negative emotions and shifting attention.Third,the organization of group self-compassion training for junior high school students,change the inappropriate cognition of junior high school students,increase the level of self-compassion,so as to reduce their depression level.Fourth,carry out extracurricular activities with the theme of preventing depression.Help junior high school students to set goals,learn to timely help.
