| High school students are in a critical period of development.Under the influence of rapid psychological changes and external environment,high school students often have depression.If they don’t deal with it in time,they may develop into serious psychological disorders.The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of mindfulness on depressive mood in high school students,and to explore the relationship among mindfulness,self-compassion and depressive mood,so as to reduce the level of depressive mood in high school students,and to study self-compassion as a mediator variable,to explore the mediating effect of self-compassion level on senior high school students,and on the basis of this research,to carry out group counseling intervention of mindfulness for senior high school students,in order to provide new ideas for the practice of mental health education in senior high school from the perspective of mindfulness.This research is divided into two sub-studies.The first study selects high school students in the west of Henan province(265 students in grade one and 344 students in grade two)as the research objects,using the five-factor mindfulness scale,The Beck Depression Inventory scale and the self-compassion questionnaire,to understand the current situation of mindfulness,self-compassion and depressive emotion level of senior high school students and the difference in the quotient of demographic variables,and to explore the influence of mindfulness on depressive emotion of senior high school students and the mediating role of self-compassion level between the two,this study examined the mediating effect of mindfulness on depression through self-compassion.Based on Study one,the second study recruited 30 high school students and randomly divided them into an experimental group and a control group.Members of the experimental group were given group counseling for a period of six weeks.At the same time,the control group participated in school courses and activities normally,but did not participate in mindfulness group counseling training.To explore the impact of mindfulness centered group counseling on high school students’ mindfulness,as well as its impact on the level of depression based on this.The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The average score of mindfulness for high school students is 119.274,and the average score of self-compassion is 85.036,both of which are at the medium level;The average score of depression among high school students is 11.499,and 34.98% of the total number of high school students with moderate or above levels of depression;(2)There are significant differences in mindfulness,self-compassion,and depression among high school students in grade,but there are no significant differences in gender and whether they are only children;(3)There is a significant negative correlation between high school students’ mindfulness and depression.Self-compassion is negatively correlated with depression while mindfulness is positively correlated with self-compassion;(4)High school students’ self-compassion mediates the relationship between mindfulness and depression;(5)Group counseling which improves the mindfulness of high school students can significantly reduce the depression of them. |
