The ideological and political theory course is a key course to implement the fundamental task of cultivating morality and cultivating people,and it is crucial to provide good ideological and political courses.As a new course in high school ideological and political education,’Socialism with Chinese Characteristics’ bears the important mission of cultivating students’ core literacy.To teach this course well,it is necessary to continuously innovate teaching methods.Among them,narrative teaching methods can be used to bring stories into the classroom,create story situations,explain the truth of the story,enhance the connection between life situations and subject knowledge,cultivate students’ core subject literacy,and improve the effectiveness of high school ideological and political education.The main body of this article is divided into five parts.The first part is an introduction,mainly explaining the background of the topic selection,the current situation at home and abroad,innovation points,and shortcomings of the paper.The second part mainly discusses the relevant concepts and theoretical basis of narrative teaching method.This section highlights the understanding of the concept of narrative teaching method.Simply put,narrative teaching method is about telling stories to make sense.At the same time,distinguish narrative teaching method from story teaching method,highlighting the characteristics of narrative teaching method such as subject diversity,content authenticity,story relevance,and meaning carrying capacity.The third part elaborates on the feasibility and necessity analysis of the application of narrative teaching method in the teaching of "Socialism with Chinese Characteristics".This content highlights the feasibility analysis of the application of narrative teaching method in specific teaching from three aspects: students,teachers,and subjects.It elaborates on the necessity analysis of the application of narrative teaching method in specific teaching from two aspects: that narrative teaching method conforms to the cognitive law of high school students from concrete to abstract,and that narrative teaching method conforms to the characteristics of the textbook "Socialism with Chinese Characteristics".The fourth part is to investigate the current situation of the application of narrative teaching method in the teaching of "Socialism with Chinese Characteristics".Through analyzing the questionnaire,problems were found,such as some teachers’ insufficient theoretical understanding and practice of narrative teaching method,single narrative subject,weak narrative teaching ability,low participation of narrative objects,and imbalanced narrative content.In response to the problem analysis,the main reasons for the problem are the characteristics of narrative teaching methods and textbooks themselves,some teachers’ lack of theoretical understanding and application ability of narrative teaching methods,and some students’ insufficient thinking,ability,and experience in adapting to narrative teaching.The fifth part is to explore the optimization strategies of using narrative teaching method in the teaching of "Socialism with Chinese Characteristics" in response to the causes of the problem: implementing the concept of narrative teaching;Practice diverse narrative subjects;Improve the narrative teaching process;Construct a guarantee and evaluation mechanism to achieve the co construction and symbiosis of narrative teaching.
