Abstract/Summary:
Objectives:Attention,as the fundamental function of perceptual information processing and cog nitive thinking, has the integration effect of multiple resources in the central nervous syst em.Childhood is a critical and sensitive period for neural growth and development,as w ell as changes in brain structure and function. It has not yet formed a stable and core att ention structure and has strong plasticity. At present, research on the impact of exercise i ntervention on children’s attention by domestic and foreign scholars still needs to be impr oved, and some research results are inconsistent. That is,the dosage combination and ma tching conditions of exercise intervention in children’s attention are more reasonable and efficient, which is still an important research topic at present.Taekwondo,as a highly co gnitive and confrontational combat sport,is highly popular in China and has a large base among children. However, research on the intervention of Taekwondo on children’s atten tion needs to be enriched. Therefore, this study explores the impact of 8-week Taekwond o exercise on the attention of 7-8 year old children, providing theoretical and practical re ference for improving the exercise plan of exercise intervention on children’s attention. Methods:Based on the purpose and content of this study,a literature review method was used to search and consult relevant literature at home and abroad,in order to gain a deeper understanding and grasp of the context and achievements of research on the impact of exercise on children’s attention at home and abroad, and to provide guarantees for the design and implementation of this study plan.Furthermore, using experimental and measurement methods, based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, combined with previous research and the actual situation of the school,40 first grade students aged 7-8 from GNXC Primary School in Yangpu District,Shanghai were selected as experimental subjects. They were randomly divided into an intervention group and a control group of 20 each. The exercise intervention period was 3 times per week, totaling 8 weeks, with a single class time of 45 minutes and an exercise intensity of moderate or above(≥60% HRmax). The intervention group implemented taekwondo teaching,The control group implemented routine physical education teaching; Two groups of children were tested for attention stability, attention allocation, attention transfer, and attention span using the Visual Tracking Test,Figure Discrimination Test,Sequential Addition and Subtraction Test, and Four Circle Test in the "Attention Test Scale" before and after the 8-week exercise intervention. The mathematical statistics method mainly uses SPSS26.0 statistical analysis software to analyze and process the relevant data measured within and between groups.Results:1)Baseline data: According to the independent sample T test, there were no statistic al differences in attention dimensions, demographic variables and physical and mental he alth status factors between the two groups(P>0.05).2)Attention stability: According to the repeated measurement variance test, the main effects of measurement times, groups, groups and measurement times are interactive,wh ich are P<0.001,P<0.05 and P<0.001 respectively.Simple effect analysis showed that the re was a significant difference in attention stability between the intervention group and th e control group over time(P < 0.001).The post-test in the intervention group was 23.87%higher than the pre-test data, while the post-test in the control group was 4.91%.Compa red with the control group, the improvement amplitude difference of children’s attention s tability in the intervention group was 18.96%.3)Attention distribution: The variance test of repeated measurement shows that the main effect of measurement times is significant(P<0.05),and there is no interaction bet ween groups and measurement times(P>0.05);The post-test in the intervention group wa s 4.76% higher than the pre-test data, while the post-test in the control group was 0.47%.Compared with the control group, the improvement amplitude difference of children’s att ention distribution in the intervention group is 4.29%.4)Attention transfer: The repeated measurement variance test shows that the main e ffects of measurement times, groups, groups and measurement times are interactive, whic h are P<0.001,P<0.05 and P<0.001 respectively.Simple effect analysis shows that after8 weeks, there is a significant change in the group effect with the change of time(P = 0.002).The post-test in the intervention group was 4.01% higher than the pre-test data,an d the post-test in the control group was 0.87%.Compared with the control group, the im provement amplitude difference of children’s attention transfer in the intervention group i s 3.14%.5)Attention span: the data difference of the four circle test can be seen by repeated measurement variance test that there is no interaction between the number of measureme nts, groups, groups and the Main effect of the number of measurements(P>0.05);The p ost test data of the intervention group increased by 1.2% compared to the pre test data, while the post test data of the control group increased by-0.92% compared to the pre te st data. There was no significant difference between the two groups of data.Research conclusions:1)Taekwondo exercise intervention can obviously improve the attention gain effect of children aged 7-8.The ascending amplitude of attention dimensions between the intervention group and the control group from high to low is:attention stability, attention distribution, attention transfer and attention span.2)Children’s attention stability, attention distribution and attention transfer after 8 weeks of Taekwondo exercise intervention have a gain effect, but there is no statistical significance in attention span, while the control group only has an improvement effect on children’s attention stability; The improvement amplitude of children’s attention in Taekwondo group from high to low is: attention stability, attention distribution and attention transfer.3)The horizontal and vertical increase of attention amplitude can be reflected, and Taekwondo has the most obvious effect on improving the attention stability of children aged 7-8.
