Background:Endurance refers to the body’s ability to perform muscle activity over a long period of time.It is the foundation of other physical qualities and helps to fight fatigue and delay the onset of fatigue. It is an important part of the physical health of students, the development of endurance quality is the focus of school physical education and extracurricular sports activities, but the conventional endurance exercise of running for a long time is very boring,so that students are easy to lose interest in training. In recent years,it has become a new direction to improve the performance of short and medium distance sprints by strength training subjects while maintaining the maximum aerobic capacity,so as to improve their economic performance and lasting performance. At the same time, improving athletes’ physical fitness through bilateral strength exercises has been recognized by scholars at home and abroad. The space for follow-up improvement is limited, and the movement pattern is different from the running movement structure,so the specificity is low.Unilateral training is highly specialized, and can reduce injuries and injuries in sports and training, and provide better athletic performance. Therefore,on the basis of previous studies,it may become a new trend to keep endurance training unchanged, compare the influence of unilateral and bilateral complex training of lower limbs, and try to add unilateral complex training of lower limbs to the strength training of runners to make the training more specialized may become a new trend.Method : 24 college students were pretested for body composition,12km/h and14km/h speed RE,and VO2 Max.According to age, gender and test results, the subjects were divided into two groups: unilateral training group(N=12),70%-85%1RM unilateral lower extremity complex strength training and endurance training;Bilateral training group(N=12),70%-85%1RM bilateral lower extremity complex strength training;During the intervention training phase, participants performed strength training twice a week and endurance training once a week for 8weeks.After the intervention, the same tests were performed as the baseline tests,in the same order and content as the pre-test.Repeated measure analysis of variance was used to test the differences between the two groups of indicators, and paired sample t test or non-parametric test was used to analyze the differences of indicators within each group, with a significance level of 0.05.Result:As for body composition indicators, there were no significant changes in body weight,BMI,body fat and fat-free weight in both groups after 8-week training intervention compared with before training.Running economy indexes in both unilateral and bilateral groups were significantly improved at 12km/h after intervention(unilateral group: % Δ =-5.97 ± 7.04,P < 0.01;Bilateral group: % Δ=-3.61±6.08,P < 0.05),the speed of 14km/h also increased significantly(unilateral group: %Δ=-5.49±4.63,P < 0.01;Bilateral group: %Δ-3.17±1.18,P < 0.05);In the lateral comparison between 12km/h and 14km/h,it was found that the running economy of the unilateral group and the bilateral group was improved more obviously at 12km/h speed, and the improvement of the unilateral group was slightly greater than that of the bilateral group. In terms of the maximal oxygen uptake index, there was no significant improvement in unilateral group(%Δ=0.68±5.26,P > 0.05)and bilateral group(%Δ=0.02±2.81,P > 0.05).For the 5KM performance index, the unilateral group had a significant improvement in 5km performance(%Δ=3.87 ±3.26,P < 0.01),and the bilateral group had a significant improvement in 5km performance(%Δ=2.23±4.27,P < 0.05).Both groups had a significant improvement in 5km performance, and the extent of improvement in the unilateral group was slightly greater than that in the bilateral group.Conclusion:(1)Adding compound strength training for 8 weeks to the endurance training of ordinary college students can significantly improve the running economy at the speed of 12km/h and 14km/h and the athletic performance at 5km without affecting their body composition and maximal oxygen uptake.(2)After 8-week intervention training, adding unilateral lower limb compound training to endurance training is better than bilateral lower limb compound training in improving the running economy and 5km endurance performance of college students. It shows that it is feasible to add unilateral lower limb compound training program in endurance training.
