Children with special needs face severe academic,psychological,further education,employment,and life adjustment problems at all stages of their careers.If the problems at each stage are not successfully resolved,they may have a negative impact on the development of children with special needs in the next stage.Building bridges for the career development of children with special needs is vital for children with special needs to fulfill their individual and social functions.The purpose of transition services is to prepare children with special needs for the bridge before they enter each stage of their careers.Therefore,it is vital to improve the developmental difficulties of children with special needs and to explore the practice of transition services for children with special needs.This study focuses on transition services for secondary vocational students with hearing disabilities.The research methods adopted include observation,interview,questionnaire,case,and object analysis.First,define the concept of transition service and individual transition plan,analyze the connotation of transition service,research on transition service for hearing disabilities students,and domestic transition service research to lay the foundation for the writing of the paper;secondly,investigate the research field the current status of transition services,the development status of secondary vocational students with hearing disabilities,and the needs of secondary vocational students with hearing disabilities’ transition services,clarify the ideas for case selection;thirdly,select four typical cases based on the investigation,and formulate individual transition plans after evaluation then carry out transition service practice,among which cases S1 and S2 are transition service for higher education,case S3 is transition service for basic computer applications,and case S4 is transition service for written language;finally,analyze the research results,discuss the research process,and sort out the research conclusions.The study’s findings show that secondary vocational school students with hearing disabilities have special and general needs for transition services.The specificity is related to their hearing loss regarding written language communication,accessibility,and knowledge of hearing aids.At the same time,universality refers to the common needs of children in general and children with special needs,such as higher education,employment,basic computer applications,and other modern social skills.The transition services facilitate achieving the fundamental goals of higher education,basic computer applications,and written language while using the transition services as a scaffold to promote self-determination and employment,education,social participation,and quality of life for the cases.The practical exploration accompanying the research process can provide a reference for in-depth research on transition services for secondary vocational school students with hearing disabilities.
