| The GCSE Physics Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition)clearly states that the teaching of the curriculum should focus on broad concepts and promote the implementation of the subject’s core literacies.Big concept-based unit teaching design is oriented to cultivate students’ core literacy,based on the teaching materials,integrating teaching contents with big concepts as the base,and using a unit of learning content,using big concepts to link up the objective design,process design and assessment design of the unit as a whole.It is important to explore how to design a high school physics unit based on big concepts for teaching reform and curriculum innovation,and to cultivate students’ core literacy.This study attempts to construct a high school physics unit teaching design based on big concepts to provide some reference for the implementation of big concept teaching in secondary school physics.The main work of this study is as follows:Thirdly,based on theoretical and practical grounds,the organic integration of big concepts and unit teaching design is explained,and based on existing research,a big concept-based unit teaching design model and specific aspects of high school physics are constructed.Firstly,on the basis of elaborating the current situation,theory and definition of relevant concepts in the study of unit teaching design of high school physics based on big concepts,a questionnaire is prepared to understand the understanding and implementation of unit teaching design and big concepts among high school physics teachers,analyse the current difficulties or problems of frontline teachers in designing units around big concepts,give corresponding teaching suggestions by analysing the causes of their problems,and provide realistic suggestions for the subsequent implementation of unit teaching design around big This will provide a practical basis for the subsequent design of units based on big concepts.Secondly,based on theoretical and practical grounds,the organic integration of big concepts and unit teaching design is elaborated,and based on existing research,a model and specific aspects of big concept-based unit teaching design for senior secondary physics are constructed.Finally,based on the model and specific aspects of the unit design of senior secondary physics,the unit "Description of Motion" is used as an example to illustrate the teaching design of a senior secondary physics unit based on big concepts.The unit teaching design process of senior secondary physics based on big concepts proposed in this study is intended to provide some reference for frontline teachers in designing units under big concepts. |
