The big idea is a generalization of the essential characteristics of the discipline,with a high degree of abstraction.It is the most essence of the huge knowledge structure system.Teaching promotes students to form big ideas,which is consistent with China’s curriculum reform’s advocacy of integrating teaching contents and implementing the overall teaching.However,it is not easy for students to form the big idea of subject system by their own generalization.Teachers need to plan the unit and guide students to the big idea of subject for a long time in teaching.Based on the existing research findings,most researchers recognize that big ideas unit design plays a positive role in the development of students in physics,and put forward relevant theories and case designs combined with their own experience and practice.However,most studies lack the thinking of unit design from the whole high school physics knowledge structure system and the quantitative empirical research of designing big ideas teaching effect experiment.Based on the above problems and the existing researches,this study took the interaction,force and motion unit as an example to explore the specific combination of the big idea of physics and unit design.Firstly,taking high school physics as a guide,the knowledge structure level was determined,and the knowledge structure diagram of the big idea of motion and interaction was drawn;Taking the big idea as the core of unit design,this paper put forward the unit design mode focusing on the big idea;Secondly,taking the interaction,force and motion unit as an example,the unit design mode was practiced;Finally,the unit teaching experiment was carried out.The experimental results showed that the unit teaching design focusing on big ideas proposed in this study can improve students’ academic performance more effectively.Besides,it can better promote the breadth,richness,integration and retrieval speed of students’ cognitive structure,and promote students to reduce their wrong cognition of ideas.
