| The "Biology Curriculum Standard for Compulsory Education(2022)" in China points out that project-based implementation should be adopted for biology practical activities.This study uses project-based teaching mode to design and implement a comprehensive biology practical activity for junior high school students.Under the guidance of the STEAM education philosophy and its features,innovative contents are integrated into the practical activity.The project-based teaching of innovative comprehensive biology practical activities for junior high school students provides a reference for alleviating the existing problems in comprehensive biology practical activities and cultivating students’ ability to solve practical problems comprehensively.This study used literature research,survey research,and case study methods to design and implement project-based teaching cases of innovative biology practical activities for junior high school students at E Middle School in Kunming.Firstly,a survey was conducted on the current situation of comprehensive practical activities in E Middle School in Kunming and the existing problems in the comprehensive biology practical activities were identified based on the survey results to determine the design principle of innovative practical activities in teaching.Secondly,based on junior high school biology knowledge,five innovative comprehensive practical activities were designed using project-based teaching mode,namely plant illustration","plant top-dyeing","the rebirth of waste paper","watering small magic tools",and"little guardian of epidemic prevention".Finally,the implementation effect of the innovative practical activities was examined and evaluated.The results show that in junior high school biology teaching,project-based teaching of innovative comprehensive practical activities can significantly improve students’ communication,collaboration and problem-solving abilities.The implementation of innovative comprehensive biology practical activities is feasible in terms of activity content,teaching mode and evaluation.The project-based teaching mode guided by the STEAM philosophy in the teaching of junior high school comprehensive biology practical activities has a significant promoting effect on achieving subject cross-linking,cultivating students’ knowledge transfer ability and comprehensive ability to solve practical problems. |
