Objectives: This research aims to explore the influence of Flywheel Eccentric Overload Squat(FEOS)on related indexes of lower limb explosive power of students in physical education majors by experimental comparison. The results of FEOS training were compared with Traditional Back Squat(TBS)training. Methods:This study mainly adopts the method of literature research, statistical analysis and experimental design.Forty-four students majoring in physical education from Guangzhou Sport University were selected as experimental subjects, and randomly divided into experimental group(FEOS group)and control group(TBS group)for 8 weeks,2 times per week. They received experimental intervention twice a week. The experimental group used flywheel eccentric training equipment with inertial disk, the maximum power range was controlled at 70%-90% and performed3-5 groups of 8-10 exercises, while the control group used barbell for back squat with70%1rm-75%1rm for 1:1 CON-ECC training. The set and rep were the same as the experimental group, and the completion time of the set and rep for both interventions was close, and the interval between groups was 3 minutes. Before and after the intervention, subjects in both groups were tested for lower limb explosive power(countermovement jump(CMJ),standing long jump, single leg triple jump, maximum concentric power, maximum eccentric power),agility, and direction changing ability(5-0-5 run, hexagon jump),and other physical indicators that could be changed by lower limb explosive power(hip circumference, thigh circumference,waist-to-hip ratio, and lower limb muscle content).Results:(1)After 8 weeks of intervention, the lower limb explosive power of both groups was significantly improved, and the effects of standing long jump(P<0.001),maximum concentric power(P<0.05),and maximum eccentric power(P<0.05)in FEOS group were greater than those in the TBS group; The effect of TBS training in TBS group on CMJ was better than that of the FEOS group.Although the single-leg triple jump index of FEOS group(both left and right foot P<0.001)and TBS(both left and right foot P<0.001)showed significant improvement(the improvement of FEOS group was greater than that of TBS group),the difference between the two groups was not statistically significant.(2)In terms of agility,the5-0-5 run(P<0.05)and hexagon jump(P<0.01)in FEOS group were significantly improved, and the improvement effect was better than that in TBS group(P<0.01).In TBS group, there were no significant changes in these two indexes before and after the interventions.(3)The physical indicators significantly improved in FEOS group after the interventions, and the improvement effect was significantly better than TBS group(hip circumference,waist-to-hip ratio, lower limb muscle content P<0.05,and thigh circumference P<0.01).Conclusions:(1)FEOS training can effectively improve the explosive power of the lower limbs of physical education students,Both vertical and horizontal explosive power;Compared with TBS training,FEOS training had a better effect on the improvement of horizontal forward explosive performance;TBS had a more obvious effect on the improvement of vertical upward explosive power.(2)FEOS training had a better effect on lower limb agility and body shape than TBS training; However,TBS training effect is not obvious. The effects of both training methods on the changes of waist-to-hip ratio were insignificant because the changeable range of waist-to-hip ratio was small.
