Symbiosis theory realizes the inheritance and development of "sharing".This study combines the symbiosis theory with bridging the development of urban and rural labor education, explores the existing problems in urban and rural labor education, explores the possibility of urban and rural labor education symbiosis, and then proposes effective strategies to bridge the gap between urban and rural schools in labor education.Firstly, this paper analyzes the relevance of symbiosis theory to bridging the gap between urban and rural labor education. On this basis,a city school and a rural school in Yichang City of Hubei Province are taken as cases.Through field investigation of these two schools, the basic pattern of urban and rural school labor education is presented. On this basis, combined with the case study and interview method,it is revealed that the gap between urban and rural labor education is mainly represented as: there is a gap between urban and rural labor education environment facilities.Urban school environmental facilities are small in scale and diverse in variety. The environmental facilities in rural schools are large in scale and small in variety; There is a gap between urban and rural labor education curriculum system.Urban school labor education curriculum system is rich and diverse, rural school labor education curriculum system is relatively single; The gap between urban and rural labor education teachers, rural schools compared with urban schools, the average age of teachers is higher, the level of education is lower, senior teachers and backbone teachers are less; The quality gap between urban and rural labor education students is that urban schools have rich sources of labor education students and their families have strong economic ability, while rural schools have a single source of students and there are more left-behind children and children of farmers. There is a gap between urban and rural labor education management mode.Urban schools adopt flat management, which is more efficient in information transmission and is conducive to stimulating teachers’ innovative spirit.Rural schools adopt bureaucratic management, which is highly organized, but only a formality with relatively low management efficiency. The reasons for the gap between urban and rural labor education are multiple.Through comparative research and interviews with school administrators and labor education teachers,it is revealed that the main reasons for the current urban-rural labor education gap are as follows: imperfect construction of rural schools’ labor education situation, insufficient teachers and annual loss of students, resulting in the imbalance of urban and rural schools’ labor education resources; The vacancy of labor concept in urban and rural schools caused by insufficient cognition of labor education; The absence of urban-rural trust in labor education. In order to better bridge the gap between urban and rural labor education, the study believes that the first thing to do is to eliminate the dimension ambiguity, establish the basis of urban and rural school labor education symbiosis, and clarify the urban and rural labor education symbiosis dimension.Secondly,we should take the concept as the core, form a unified urban and rural labor education symbiotic value, and resolve the conflict of urban and rural teachers’ labor education ideas.Third,we should take the mechanism as the key, adhere to the guidance of the government, and improve the symbiotic mechanism of urban and rural labor education.Fourth,we should take the platform as the bridge to enrich the symbiotic conditions of urban and rural labor education and establish a symbiotic platform. Finally,we should take the environment as the foundation, focus on the gap between urban and rural labor and education, and optimize the symbiotic environment.
