As China enters a new stage of development,industrial upgrading and economic restructuring continue to accelerate,the requirements of various industries for technical skills talents are getting higher and higher,and the important status and role of vocational education are becoming more and more prominent.Secondary vocational schools undertake the dual task of cultivating students’ professional skills and personal cultivation,in addition to strengthening the basic academic accomplishment required for students’ future work,but also cultivating students’ professional ethics and personal qualities.As a unique education method,aesthetic education can enhance students’ aesthetic literacy,warm the soul,stimulate creative vitality,and then promote the development and improvement of students’ professional ethics and personal character.Therefore,integrating aesthetic education into the professional curriculum of secondary vocational schools is a significant way for teachers to cultivate high-quality talents with physical and mental harmony and all-round development.Through questionnaire surveys and in-depth interviews with students and teachers of tourism majors in three secondary schools in Chongqing,this study finds that there are currently problems of students’ lack of awareness of aesthetic education,imperfect ways of evaluating aesthetic education,low aesthetic literacy of teachers and single ways of aesthetic education in secondary schools.Based on the four aspects of talent training programme,curriculum content,job requirements and current affairs cases,and based on the theory of all-round human development,it seeks to extract the elements of aesthetic education that are conducive to improving students’ aesthetic quality in an all-round way,so as to promote students’ all-round development.It also proposes strategies to promote the integration of aesthetic education and classroom teaching at the teacher level: firstly,teachers should establish a correct concept of aesthetics and improve their own aesthetic cultivation both internally and externally,so as to infect students with their own personal qualities by means of teaching them by example.Secondly,they should focus on the classroom as the main venue for implementing aesthetic education,and build a path for aesthetic education to permeate classroom teaching from the establishment of teaching objectives,the choice of teaching methods,the selection of teaching content and the establishment of evaluation methods.The final conclusion is that it is necessary and feasible to integrate aesthetic education and curriculum teaching,and that it has important practical value and significance,helping to cultivate correct aesthetic values in students.It also provides a reference for teachers of tourism in secondary schools to innovate teaching forms and integrate aesthetic education in the classroom.
