Research On Social Work Practice Of Youth Participating In The Creation Of Urban Green Communities

From the perspective of social capital theory and the professional practice of social work,this paper studies the "green community building" project in P community of F city.In the process of practice,we focus on building the software facilities of green community.Through leading community adolescents to participate in the green community building activities,we plan to build a community network of green community organizations and public spaces,establish community reciprocity norms and institutional norms,and then further cultivate the community trust and finally spreed a green and friendly community culture.Through questionnaires and interviews,it is found that the difficulties faced by adolescents in the process of participating in green community building can be mainly manifested in three aspects: low frequency of community communication,less participation in community activities,and low level of community participation.The causes can be summarized as three main reasons: the weak interpersonal support network,the lack of reciprocity norms and the limited ability of their own community participation.Based on Putnam’s social capital theory,the author establishes the intervention path of social work: promoting adolescents to generate community interaction→establishing community norms→building community network→forming community trust.Besides,social workers have established a tripartite linkage mechanism of "home,school and community" to drive adolescents to integrate into the community and participate in it.By this way,the utilitarian norms and institutional norms of adolescents are improved to reach group consensus and conduct mutually beneficial exchanges.And then through the establishment of community green public space and the development of green community organizations,the network of relations are available to build.In the process,the community trust ensues silently.After social work intervention,adolescents have formed community norms,established community networks,and rebuilt community trust.As a result,community social capital has been continuously accumulated,thus greatly improving adolescents’ awareness and ability of community participation,and fostering environmental behaviors then drive family members and community residents to participate in community building together,at last a green,civilized and ecologically harmonious community come out.Finally,the author summarizes the effectiveness of service projects and research conclusions from the perspectives of norms,trust and network.In addition,the author also proposes the service countermeasures to accumulate community social capital and improve youth participation.
