The Geography Curriculum Standards for General Senior High Schools((2017version,2020 revision))” clearly stated in the implementation recommendations of the curriculum standards that emphasis should be placed on problem-based teaching, which plays an important role in cultivating students’ core geographic literacy. At the same time,in the face of the advent of the information age,the new curriculum standards also clearly put forward suggestions for deepening the application of information technology and attach importance to the application of geographic information technology in teaching.Although the application of geography teaching has been gradually paid attention to,the application research in the problem-based teaching of geography is almost blank. Therefore, this paper sorts out the current research status and related concepts of problem-based teaching and WebGIS through the literature review method, and analyzes the feasibility and advantages of WebGIS-assisted high school geography problem-based teaching. The application status and existing problems of the current high school geography problem-based teaching, and the obstacles of geographic information technology-assisted high school geography problem-based teaching are investigated through the questionnaire survey and interview methods. In view of the problems found in the survey, combined with theoretical and practical experience, taking the teaching materials of the People’s Education Edition as an example, the teaching content suitable for WebGIS-assisted high school geography problem-based teaching was deeply excavated, and the teaching principles, basic principles and basic principles of WebGIS-assisted high school geography problem-based teaching were put forward.Path and teaching strategies, and finally through the case analysis method to carry out an empirical study on WebGIS-assisted high school geography problem-based teaching to verify the practical effect.Through the research, the main conclusions of this paper are as follows:1.It is feasible and advantageous for WebGIS to assist high school geography problem-based teaching. On the basis of summarizing that WebGIS has three major teaching functions, such as geographic image interpretation function, map making function, and data analysis function,it is concluded from the perspectives of content fit and practical feasibility that WebGIS-assisted high school geography problem-based teaching is suitable for It is theoretically feasible, and combined with the analysis of the characteristics of WebGIS,it is believed that WebGIS-assisted problem-based teaching has four main advantages in the cultivation of core literacy: in regional cognition, overcoming the obstacles of time and space, and traveling through time and space;in the concept of human-land coordination, which is conducive to the construction of decision-making models;in terms of comprehensive thinking,it is conducive to problem solving in spatial thinking;in terms of geographic practice,it is conducive to the realization of visualization and the cultivation of the ability to use tools.2.The survey found that there are certain problems in the current high school geography problem-based teaching. At present, there are many applications of high school geography problem-based teaching, but less application in some difficult knowledge types. The main problems include the lack of technical means and single teaching means;the lack of students’ initiative in exploring and problem-solving ability;the difficulty in creating problem situations and the lack of material sources; The survey also found that the common obstacles to the application of information technology to assist problem-based teaching by first-line senior high school geography teachers are difficulty in obtaining data resources, insufficient infrastructure, and unfamiliarity with geographic information technology operations.3.At present, there are four types of geographical problems suitable for WebGIS-assisted high school geography problem-based teaching: geographical problems that require students to use spatial thinking to solve;geographical problems at the meso-micro scale based on real situations;geographical problems involving geographical decision-making;a geographic problem that requires analysis involving multiple geographic layers.4.WebGIS-assisted high school geography problem-based teaching should follow the principles of curriculum standard orientation, practicality, innovation, comprehensiveness, practice and moderation. The basic path of WebGIS assisting high school geography problem-based teaching: with the help of WebGIS,construct the real problem situation throughout the classroom;rely on the situation created by WebGIS to discover and ask questions;operate and observe WebGIS,analyze and solve geographic problems;use WebGIS to summarize teaching content and reflect on Geographic issues;use WebGIS to migrate applications and extend learning. To deeply integrate WebGIS with high school geography problem-based teaching,we should pay attention to four teaching strategies: use WebGIS to create a teaching situation that stimulates students’ desire to explore;design geographical problems with reasonable structure and inquiries based on the WebGIS situation;use WebGIS functions to build a learning scaffold,Develop students’ problem-solving skills.Make use of strengths and avoid weaknesses to improve the efficiency of WebGIS use.5.WebGIS-assisted high school geography problem-based teaching is feasible and effective in practice.Based on the content of the noon sun height in Chapter 1,Section 2,"The Geographical Significance of Earth Motion" in the optional compulsory course of the People’s Education Edition,3D Sun-Path is used as a WebGIS platform to conduct WebGIS-assisted geographic problem-based teaching and design teaching design. And put it into practice, carry out a variety of teaching effect tests, and verify that the WebGIS-assisted high school geography problem-based teaching method is feasible in practice, and the teaching effect is good.
