Objectives: To explore the effects of 8-week short tennis training on the coordination abilities of children aged 7-8 years, including rope jumping, cross quadrant jumping, rhythm running,one-legged standing with eyes closed, walking the balance beam, and aiming and throwing,so as to develop a new intervention for the development of children’s coordination ability and to provide theoretical and experimental basis for the development of short tennis training in children’s social development training. Methods: A total of 30 second grade students from Hangzhou Baochu Shenhua Experimental School were randomly divided into short tennis training group(8 boys and 7 girls,a total of 15)and control group(8 boys and 7 girls,a total of 15).In addition to normal physical education classes, the students in the short tennis training group did not participate in school recess activities, and received short tennis training. The exercise intensity was 60%-75% of the maximum heart rate(220-age)as the appropriate heart rate, that is,the heart rate was 127-160 beats /min,90 minutes each time,3 times a week for 8 weeks. In addition to the normal physical education class, the control group received the same time of campus activities as the short tennis training group. After 8 weeks, the coherence ability(jumping rope),reaction ability(cross quadrant jump),rhythm ability(rhythm running),balance ability(single leg standing with eyes closed, walking balance beam)and spatial perception ability(aiming and throwing distance)of the two groups of students were tested.Results:(1)Compared with the control group, the second-grade boys in the short tennis training group showed significant improvement in the scores of rope jumping, cross quadrant jumping, and aiming and throwing(p < 0.01 or p < 0.05),but there was no significant difference in the scores of rhythm running,one-legged standing with eyes closed, and walking balance beam(p > 0.05).The second-grade girls in the short tennis training group showed significant improvement in the scores of rope skipping, cross quadrant jumping, and aiming and throwing(p < 0.01 or p <0.05),but there was no significant difference in the scores of rhythm running,one-legged standing with eyes closed, and walking on the balance beam(p > 0.05).After the training of short tennis, the scores of skipping rope, cross quadrant jump and aiming and throwing were significantly improved(p < 0.01 or p < 0.05),but the scores of rhythm running,one-legged standing with eyes closed and walking balance beam were not significantly different(p > 0.05).After short tennis training, the scores of jump rope, cross quadrant jump, aiming and throwing were significantly improved(p < 0.01 or p < 0.05),but the scores of rhythm running,one-legged standing with eyes closed and walking balance beam were not significantly different(p > 0.05).Conclusions: 1.After 8 weeks of short tennis training, both boys and girls aged7-8 years showed significant improvements in the scores of rope skipping, cross quadrant jumping, and long throw aiming, indicating that short tennis training can significantly improve the coherence ability, reaction ability, and spatial perception ability of boys and girls aged 7-8 years.2.After 8 weeks of short tennis training, there was no significant improvement in the test scores of rhythm running,single-legged standing with eyes closed and walking balance beam of boys and girls aged 7-8 years, indicating that short tennis training had no significant effect on the improvement of rhythm ability and balance ability of boys and girls aged 7-8 years.3.Short tennis training can improve the coordination of 7-8 years old children to a large extent, and can be further promoted in 7-8 years old boys and girls.
