A Study On The Body Presentation And Self-Construction Of Post-90s Chinese Men In Sina Weibo

At present,human body symbols are more and more combined with virtual technology,and the body enters the digital virtual space to realize social communication.The rich information hidden behind the image has multiple impacts on individuals.Sina Weibo provides a new field for individual body expression,reproduction and reconstruction by integrating characters,pictures and videos.At present,studies have shown that men are increasingly dissatisfied with and sensitive to their bodies,and they are eager to seek a new field to release their true selves,and the post-90 s,as an active group on social media,have a stronger desire to share.Therefore,this paper takes the body photos posted by the post-90 s male group on Sina Weibo as research samples.Based on the self-presentation theory,visual coding is conducted on the content of the photos,supplemented by in-depth interviews,so as to analyze their body presentation and construction process,behavioral characteristics,and the value and reflection behind the body presentation of post-90 s male group on Sina Weibo.The main body of this paper is divided into five parts.The first chapter introduces the network space characteristics and self-construction characteristics of Sina Weibo platform.The second chapter analyzes the photo presentation of post-90 s male on Sina Weibo platform from four visual latitudes.The third chapter demonstrates the behavior characteristics of the post-90 s male self-construction.It is found that they pursue image capital,hoping to expand social circle and improve material income through the display of daily life.The deviation between online personal image and real image of men is small,and the processing of background situation is relatively rough;At the same time,they boldly put their daily life and self in the public eye,the record of photos pay more attention to social value;The fourth chapter combs through the process of how post-90 s men transfer their bodies from offline to virtual space.Post-90 s men try to get rid of the pressure in society and real life and turn to virtual space for self-regulation;In this process,the boundary between reality and virtual body is gradually blurred in online social situations.In the transformation between network and virtual body,they arrange the ideal body to satisfy the self-expression and obtain the return of real self.The self constructed in the virtual world is gradually integrated with the ID to deepen the understanding of oneself and others.The fifth chapter discusses the value and problems of self-presentation by post-90 s men on Sina Weibo platform.Photo sharing by post-90 s men on Sina Weibo not only satisfies the needs of self-expression and capital accumulation,but also helps maintain and develop social relationships among different circles.But inevitably,there are some negative effects along with the dividends.Such as ignoring social relations in real life,excessive pursuit of network image play.
