Since the 1990s,with the establishment of the socialist market economic system and the rapid economic development,the era of consumption has come,and China has gradually entered a consumer society.The mass media and the commercial market have conspired to promote the transformation of mass culture into a cultural paradigm that enriches the connotation of consumer culture.The consumer culture characterized by materialistic enjoyment and the popular masses has shaped the creative concept of urban film and television.By sorting out and analyzing the content and texts of urban emotional dramas from the beginning of the 1990s to the present,the thesis involves narrative topics such as marriage and family,workplace,youth,and intergenerational relations,and attempts to examine the urban emotional dramas that account for the largest proportion of the TV drama market.The interactive relationship with social reality,cultural trend of thought and film and television aesthetics.Through the comparison between the narrative content and visual style of horizontal TV dramas and the historical development of vertical urban emotional dramas,this paper examines how urban emotional dramas evolve into the most active from the aspects of the shaping of urban mimetic space,the construction of consumption symbols,and the strategic use of consumer culture narratives.The field of media production and symbolic meaning production.The current urban emotional dramas actively cater to the needs of the public and practice the benefit rules of the consumer market both in terms of creation concept and aesthetic trend.Although the emotional stories presented in the dramas return to daily life,they have the meaning of social samples for review.However,the increasing emphasis on commercial value is also deconstructing the value orientation of culture and art,obscuring the real exploration of realistic meaning,and making it a creative form only superficial.Urban space has become a complete consumption culture space,and its materialized,symbolic and fashionable attributes create a dream consumption and life field for the audience.The visual stimulation and psychological satisfaction stimulate the desire and imagination of the middle and lower groups or those who have not experienced the city or experienced the prosperous city and the leap of class.The characters of the story reveal the aesthetic tendency of materialism,the pursuit of pleasure in life,the emotional gradually utilitarian,consumption becomes a symbol of status and identity.On the one hand,through the narrative strategy of consumer culture,urban emotional drama continuously produces people’s social aesthetics;On the other hand,they subtly dominate people’s consumption under aesthetic identity.
