Case Study On Narrative Therapy Model To Enhance The Self-worth Of Disabled Elderly People In Institution

As a vulnerable group in society,the proportion of disabled elderly in pension institutions is increasing.Although the disabled elderly can get relatively professional daily care in the institution,they live in a relatively closed courtyard environment for a long time,with alienated parent-child relationship,limited physical function and lack of self-worth,which are often ignored by the society.At present,there is little research on self-worth of disabled elderly in pension institutions,and the research on social work intervention to improve self-worth of disabled elderly in pension institutions needs to be strengthened.In this paper,the disabled elderly in Q pension institutions in C city as the research object,select one of the representative elderly,use narrative therapy mode in social work to intervene in the lack of self-worth of the service object,through the provision of case service,explore the effectiveness of narrative therapy mode to intervene to enhance the self-worth of disabled elderly in pension institutions,and reflect on its shortcomings.This study first uses the "Self-worth Questionnaire for the Elderly" to conduct a questionnaire survey on all the elderly in the institution,distinguishing the disabled elderly and the self-care elderly from two different samples,verifying that the self-worth of the disabled elderly in the same institution is relatively low,and then combining the questionnaire and the introduction of the staff of the institution,determines Grandma G as the research object,that is,the case service object.Then,the scale method is adopted to evaluate and measure the disability and self-worth of the service objects respectively.After that,the semi-structured interview method and observation method are used to collect the basic information of the service objects.After comparison and analysis,the causes and needs of the lack of self-worth of the service objects are evaluated,and the service objectives and intervention plans are formulated.In the intervention stage,narrative therapy mode is used to listen to the stories of the clients,deconstruct the stories,and externalize the separation of the clients and the problems.Open up new spaces,develop unique stories,and re-construct;Strengthen the specific plot of the new story and witness the change of the service object with others.Finally,through the process and effect evaluation of the whole case service,the study draws the conclusion: First,the narrative therapy model is applied to enhance the self-worth of the disabled elderly in the institution Second,the introduction of the conversation outline into the conversation stage of narrative therapy can effectively improve the efficiency of the conversation.Finally,the study puts forward suggestions for improvement: First,improve the professional ability of elderly social workers;The second is to establish a long-term case service mechanism in the organization;Third,improve the facilities and equipment of remote case service.
