There is a large number of people with disabilities in our country. Therefore, how to improve the sense of self-worth of disabled individuals, and then improve their quality of life has a strong practical significance.Guided by person-centered therapy, this thesis adopts the case work method to carry on professional intervention to a disabled person with very low self-worth,and explores the intervention effect and applicability of the person-centered therapy to improve self-worth of the disabled,so as to provide valuable reference for the improvement of relevant intervention practices.Under the guidance of the person-centered therapy, combined with the factors affecting self-worth,this thesis changes the negative state of protagonist in the case from the following four aspects: first,in the correction of bias awareness,to help the protagonist understand the innate factors difficult to change,self-affirm learned life skills, find his own advantages, and express the desire to develop interest. As a result, the protagonist can face up to their own,and began to transform their useless feeling.Second,in the establishment of good relations,to promote the positive interaction between the protagonist and his family members, members of the community and residents,to enhance the communication between protagonist and other people,to establish good interpersonal relationships and get emotional support. After the intervention, the protagonist can take the initiative to communicate with people, and get fun and self-confidence in the interaction.Third,in the side of feeling their own value,to help the protagonist to realize their own ability and value, and improve his self-worth in the process of developing interest and helping others. After this stage, the protagonist changed his low state of "worthless" and became positive and confident. Finally,in the re-evaluation of self, with the help of the positive evaluation of the outside world, the feedback of his own progress and the strengthening of self value,we guide the protagonist to evaluate himself actively. At this point, the protagonist has been fully aware of their own changes. He is fulling of confidence, faces life with a positive attitude, affirms his own advantages and values and gains a higher sense of self-worth.Through the summary,we found that it plays an active role in improving the sense of self-worth of the disabled that person-centered therapy taking the client to center and the“normalization”role positioning. However, the person-centered therapy lacks of a clear way to guide,so there is a certain degree of difficulty to directly apply to the practice.Only by grasping the core concept of center model, combining with the actual situation of the service object and carrying out work flexibly, can we achieve a better result.
