This study conducted two rounds of action research in kindergarten on the quality self-assessment of activities of outdoor independent game for middle class teachers to improve the quality,with the aim to summarize effective suggestions for kindergarten to carry out quality self-assessment of activities of outdoor independent game by teachers and promote the quality of activities of outdoor independent game.This study used a survey method to understand the current situation of quality assessment of activities of outdoor independent game in Shanghai J Kindergarten.Middle(5)and Middle(2)classes in J Kindergarten were selected as the experimental class and control class respectively,and the pre-test was used to understand the original level of quality of activities of outdoor independent game in the two classes.Then,based on the Ministry of Education’s "Guidelines for Assessing the Quality of Kindergarten Care and Education",the content of game activities under the key indicators of "Activity Organisation" in the "Educational Process",the observation points were refined to form the "Indicator System for Assessing the Quality of Activities of Outdoor Independent Game in Kindergarten Middle Class" and the relevant assessment record forms.On this basis,the researcher cooperated with teacher S of the experimental class of the middle(5)class,organised the Kindergarten Director L,the director of the conservation and education H,the head of the teaching and research group S,the teacher S and other teachers to form an assessment community,and tried to guide the parents and children of the experimental class to participate in the assessment.Two rounds of action research were carried out to help kindergarten conduct self-assessment of the quality of their teachers’ activities of outdoor role game activities and outdoor construction game.After each round of action research,the researcher and the teacher S reflected and summarised,made adjustments and improvements,and fed back the suggestions made into the next round of action research.At the end of the two rounds of action research,the researcher observed and post-tested the quality of activities of outdoor independent game in each of the two classes to understand the effectiveness of assessing the quality of activities of outdoor independent game in the classes through the quality of outdoor independent play activities.The following conclusions were drawn from the two rounds of action research:the quality self-evaluation of kindergarten teachers’ activities of outdoor independent game can improve the quality of activities of outdoor independent game;the kindergarten improved quality of activities of outdoor independent game by self-assessment of activities of independent outdoor game for teachers should based on active reflection by the teachers’ self-evaluation;the kindergarten improved quality of activities of outdoor independent game by self-assessment of activities of independent outdoor game for teachers need to form an evaluation community.On the basis of the research conclusions,from the perspectives of kindergarten and teachers,the researcher proposes suggestions to improve the quality of activities of outdoor independent game through self-assessment of the quality of activities of outdoor independent game conducted by kindergarten to teachers: for kindergarten,establish an internal quality assessment mechanism for activities of outdoor independent game and run it on a regular basis;create a democratic and shared atmosphere and organise the participation of multiple actors in the quality assessment of activities of outdoor independent game;reduce teachers’ workload and allow time for reflection and evaluation.For teachers,establish a correct concept of assessment and actively engage in self-assessment and reflection;recognise the role of peer assessment and strengthen cooperation and communication with other peer assessors.
