Family is the most basic unit of society,is also the first school of life,is the national development,national progress,social harmony of the cornerstone.Family education,different from school education and social education,concerns the lifelong development of every child and can have a profound and lasting impact on the family for generations.On October 23,2021,China’s first family education legislation--the Family Education Promotion Law of the People’s Republic of China was promulgated.The state puts family education on the legislative level,indicating that the state attaches unprecedented importance to the guidance of family education.Family education guidance service involves the government,schools,parents,students and other subjects,the guidance content involves pedagogy,psychology,sociology,ethics and other aspects of knowledge,is a long and complicated work.In northern Guangdong,due to the backward economic development and scarce educational resources,the development of family education guidance and service areas is not balanced,and schools are faced with many puzzles and problems in the process of family education guidance.At the same time,the characteristics of physical and mental development of junior high school students,they face particularly prominent problems of family education,parents of family education guidance services is particularly urgent,the school for their family education guidance is more challenging.This study hopes to investigate the family education guidance of urban middle schools in northern Guangdong,understand the current situation of family education guidance,analyze the problems and causes in the process of family education guidance,and put forward improvement strategies.Based on the relatively backward teaching resources of junior middle schools and prominent family education problems in junior middle schools in northern Guangdong,this study adopts the methods of literature,interview and questionnaire to carry out an empirical survey with S School as an example to understand the development of family education guidance services in this school.This paper analyzes the existing problems and causes of family education guidance service in urban middle schools in northern Guangdong,and puts forward feasible suggestions to provide reference for further promoting family education guidance service in northern Guangdong.By analyzing and sorting out the survey results,this study believes that there are the following problems in the current family education guidance work: First,the degree of parents’ participation in school family education guidance services is low.Second,the school provides family education guidance service content quality is not high.Third,the government’s role in family education guidance services is limited.In view of the problems in the school’s current family education guidance work,combined with the theory and connotation of family education guidance,put forward the following countermeasures: first,parents should actively conform to the trend of family education times.Second,schools should improve the level of family education guidance services.Third,the government should strengthen the overall consideration of family education guidance services.
