This paper uses literature,questionnaires,logical analysis and mathematical statistics to investigate the current situation of physical literacy among children aged 3-6 years in Tianjin,using 401 children aged 3-6 years in Tianjin as respondents.In-depth analysis of the problems of physical literacy among children aged 3-6 in Tianjin,analysis of the factors influencing the physical literacy of children aged 3-6 in Tianjin,and then propose countermeasures to improve the physical literacy of children aged 3-6 in Tianjin.The findings of the study are as follows:Current situation:(1)In terms of motor participation,children aged 3-6 in Tianjin are actively involved in physical activities,mainly choosing running and jumping,boys prefer football and sports games,and girls prefer dancing and cycling.(2)In terms of motor ability,children aged 3-6 in Tianjin have good motor ability,with some reaching excellent and upper-middle levels,but some children have deviations in motor ability.(3)In terms of daily behaviour,children spend a lot of time looking at electronic screens.Most of them sleep for 9-10 hours and spend a high percentage of time outdoors for more than one hour on rest days.Problems:(1)Children aged 3-6 in Tianjin have to improve their motor skills and their behavioural performance is unreasonable,such as short time for physical activity,few items of long-term persistent exercise,long time spent on electronic screens and short hours of sleep.(2)The three aspects of family,school and community have an impact on children’s physical literacy development,mainly influenced by parents’ attitude,school curriculum facilities and community sports environment atmosphere.Countermeasures:In order to effectively improve the physical literacy of children aged 3-6 in Tianjin,the following countermeasures are proposed,based on the theory of the Canadian Apple Model and the theory of cultivating physical literacy in children’s stages proposed by academician Patricia Maude MBE:(1)strengthen social publicity and raise the awareness of the whole society on the cultivation of children’s physical literacy;(2)create an active and healthy lifestyle in the family to enhance children’s physical activity participation;(3)promote the development of physical literacy in the family.create a diversified environment to stimulate children’s interest in physical activity;(4)strengthen the development and promotion of physical literacy programmes for children to motivate them to exercise;(5)strengthen the construction of a child-friendly physical activity environment in the community to provide a good community environment for children’s physical activity.
