Research objective: In recent years,depression,obesity,myopia and other adolescent problems of middle school students have attracted the attention of the society.In addition,at present,junior high school physical education is mainly based on the exercise of high school entrance examination items and physical exercise,it is urgent to actively carry out a variety of physical exercise to help students establish a lifelong sports consciousness.Flower ball cheerleading operation is a new project included in physical education and health curriculum standards,is a combination of sports,music,dance,modeling quite ornamental performance sports,especially by the lively,active girls like,but its fitness value is worth studying.This paper aims to explore the difference between 12-week flower ball cheerleading course and traditional physical education course on health and physical fitness(BMI index,cardiopulmonary function,muscle endurance,muscle strength and flexibility)of girls in junior high school,so as to provide reference value for junior high school physical education cheerleading course.Research methods: A total of 32 girls were randomly selected from 4 classes with similar basic(no weekend participation in sports and physical fitness),and divided into experimental group and control group,16 girls each.The experimental group carried out12 weeks of 2020 version of the demonstration movement of the ball of junior middle school cheerleading training,the control group carried out 12 weeks of traditional physical education training(set track and field,football,rope skipping three plates),the experiment before and after the intervention to test the body mass index,sitting forward bend,grip strength,one minute sit-up,standing long jump,800 meters and other indicators.The measured data were processed by SPSS 27.0 statistical software,and the significance level of all indexes was set as α=0.05.The results were as follows: 1)There were significant differences in the physical fitness between the two groups of students who participated in the flower ball cheerleading exercise and the traditional PE class.Among the indexes of body composition,the effect of the flower ball cheerleading exercise on the weight control of students was more significant;2)After 12 weeks of flower ball cheerleading exercise,the learning effect of grip strength and cardiopulmonary fitness showed significant differences compared with traditional physical education;3)After 12 weeks of experimental intervention,although there was no significant difference between the body mass index,sitting forward bend,one-minute sit-up and standing long jump indexes of the flower ball cheerleading exercise and the traditional physical education class,the influence of flower ball cheerleading exercise on all indicators of health and physical fitness was better than that of the control group.Conclusion: Among the indicators of physical fitness,only grip strength and cardiopulmonary fitness have significant differences,indicating that learning cheerleading courses is of great significance for students’ upper body strength and cardiopulmonary fitness.From several other indicators,it can be found that participating in cheerleading class has more advantages on fat reduction and body shaping than traditional physical education class.The addition of targeted flexibility exercises and all-round core exercises in class also has more promotion effect on sitting forward bend and one-minute sit-up performance than traditional physical education class.
