| With the reform of the new college entrance examination, mathematics has shifted from a ”knowledge-based” to a ”literacy-based” approach, which has placed new demands on college entrance examination questions. The mathematics competition is a supplement to secondary school mathematics teaching, and the content involved is an extension of classroom teaching and has great educational research value. The study of number series in mathematics competitions can not only enrich the content of competition mathematics, but also guide the mathematics of the entrance examination. In this paper,we use literature analysis, statistical research, questionnaires and interviews to explore the common series in mathematics competitions and the properties of series. The questionnaires were also used to investigate students’ mastery and study habits,as well as to interview teachers’ views on the teaching of number series. The questionnaire surveyed students’ mastery and study habits, and interviewed teachers’ views on the teaching of series.According to the analysis of the study,(1)the mathematical ideas of functions and equations, transformation and generalization, classification and discussion, special and general, and combination of number and shape are embedded in the number series questions, among which the most common is the idea of transformation and generalization;(2)the difficulty of the four types of questions, from the application of basic knowledge of series, summation of series, general formula of series to comprehensive problems, increases in order;(3)the core literacy level in the competition number series questions(3)The core literacy level in the competition questions is mostly at Level 2,followed by Level 1;the core literacy level in the college entrance examination questions is mostly at Level1,followed by Level 2;(4)Students generally think that comprehensive problems such as series and inequalities are more difficult, and it is not easy to master the conversion method when deriving the general formula of series, and the study habit of summarizing and reflecting on the problems needs further development. Finally,we would like to give some suggestions for teaching. |
