HINOC(High performance Network Over Coax)is a newly promoted wide band access technology based on CATV network with self-owned intellectual property rights. This thesis mainly discussed the detail requirement and specification of queue management module and memory allocation module in HINOC MAC.The simulation result of Modelsim and synthesis result of Quartus indicate that the design has reached expected requirement and that these two modules can be used in HINOC prototype. In chapter 1 some widely used access technologies’highlights are introduced and those which based on CATV network are presented. In chapter 2 the architecture of HINOC prototype is introduced with a summary of functionalities and interface specification for CPU,HIMAC and HIPHY.These modules are the three main parts of the HINOC prototype. The architecture and functionalities of queue management module and memory allocation module are discussed in detail. In chapter 3 the requirement of queue management module are deeply discussed. An implementable scheme which confirm to the requirements is proposed.A complete verification scheme based on random stimulus for this module is implemented at the last of this chapter. In chapter 4 the requirements of memory allocation module are deeply discussed and some widely used memory allocation algorithms are compared.A solution which meets the requirements is proposed and a random simulation scheme for this module is introduced. In chapter 5 the simulation and synthesis results are displayed.Chapter 6 is the summaries of this thesis. Some existence problems in queue management module and memory allocation module are discussed and the solutions are provided.
