| Since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,the continuous efforts in the construction of digital China have made remarkable achievements.Digital transformation is an inevitable path for enterprises in the future.It is also the source of building core competitiveness and improving total factor productivity.With the advent of the Internet wave,all industries are accelerating the development of digital,so is the field of medicine.Digitization provides a brand new resource and wealth,or even core assets,for the development of enterprises.After the digital transformation,the pharmaceutical industry can occupy the new commanding heights of competition and serve the business,production and management,which plays a decisive role in enterprise performance.As a leading enterprise in the pharmaceutical industry,since the Digital transformation goal was put forward in 2014,SHP has gradually laid out the enterprise’s Digital transformation work,continued to promote Digital transformation in all aspects of the company’s production and operation,and achieved good results,and its enterprise performance has changed to varying degrees.Therefore,this paper takes Shanghai Pharmaceutical as a case company,and takes the process reengineering theory,value chain theory and contingency management theory as the theoretical basis to study the motivation of its Digital transformation and its impact on enterprise performance.The study found that the main reasons for the Digital transformation of Shanghai Pharmaceutical are to improve production efficiency and reduce production costs;Meeting market demand and improving core competitiveness;The demand for improving the corporate governance model and the favorable trend of policies are four major aspects.It carries out Digital transformation through production,business and management and basically realizes the optimization and construction of the Internet.Moreover,in the process of Digital transformation,SHP has improved its profitability and development ability by innovating its business model,expanding its sales channels and increasing its sales revenue.Due to its efforts to promote vaccination during the epidemic,SHP has narrowed the performance gap with industry leaders.Finally,from the aspects of business model,operation management and industry policy,this paper puts forward the problems existing in the implementation of Digital transformation of Shanghai Pharmaceutical,and puts forward corresponding improvement suggestions for the motivation,path and effect of Digital transformation and its impact on performance,with a view to expanding the theoretical understanding of Digital transformation of the pharmaceutical industry and its impact on enterprise performance,It provides some reference and help for the strategic layout of Digital transformation and the selection of Digital transformation projects.The research significance of this paper is mainly reflected in the following two aspects: First,the case study method used in this paper can further analyze the motivation,process,path and effect of Digital transformation of enterprises,which has important theoretical significance for exploring the impact of Digital transformation on enterprise performance;Second,the pharmaceutical industry covers the whole value chain of R&D,production,supply chain,sales,marketing and service.Its Digital transformation faces great challenges,leading to a low level of digital development.Therefore,the research on its Digital transformation effect will help to promote the Digital transformation process of the pharmaceutical industry. |
